5.0 out of 5 stars Quality Anime!, January 10, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Blue Seed, Vol. 1 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This epic rocks my world. For any anime fans, it's a cross between Tenchi Muyo and Neon Genesis Evangelion. More serious than Tenchi, but less psychological than Evangelion--a happy medium. Blue Seed mixes concerns about ecological mass destruction and ancient Japanese myths to make an entrancing and epic story-line. The art is good, with just a hint of gore. Kusangi is the coolest character, besides Ryoga and Ranma (of Ranma 1/2), in any anime. The dubbed version is much more approachable and easier to enjoy than the subtitled version.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful anime series -- a must see, July 8, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Blue Seed, Vol. 1 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The Blue Seed series does not recieve much audience, and that's a pity. Its smart, savvy storyline has a unique depth to it: many of the situations (including the main plot) are directly from ancient Japanese legends. The characters, even though their initial roots are buried in the pit of cliche, are presented in a logical and sensible approach. The violence, which is most intense during the first two episodes, tends to be well-drawn and realistic. There's also something behind the gun-and-kill approach: most situations are not cleared easily by Kome's bazooka. It takes some thinking, which is missing in all but few of today's cartoons. An excellent series for anyone mature enough to handle brief nudity and realistic "violence", it provides quality viewing. Make sure you don't pass up on this!

5.0 out of 5 stars DA BOMB DA BOMB DA BOMB! That's all there is to say!, August 3, 2000

Sailor Saturn (The far reaches of our solar system, planet Saturn...( NC)) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Blue Seed, Vol. 1 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This one of the best Animes my friends and I have ever watched! Believe me, if ya like Sailor Moon, Tenchi Muyo, and other comedic/dramatic animes, then you'll LOVE this one! I've already seen 6 of the volumes and absolutely can't wait to see the next volumes!!!!!!! Mainly, it's about this poor girl, Momiji, who just happens to be the kushinada. What is a "kushinada"? you ask, well it's a "princess" who is thought of as a sacrifice for the Arigomi. Now the Arigomi are these HORRIBLE monster/demon things. Now the T.A.C. must guard and protect Momiji, along with the help of a VERY special Arigomi, Kusanagi. You'll just have to see how litttle miss Kushinada does in this SPECTACTULAR Anime. *^-^*
