Looking for Juturna? Look away.,

This CD is not the rebirth of Juturna, even if you'd like it to be. Based on Anthony's solo work, it seems that he had a pressing influence on this album, perhaps beyond what most fans would be comfortable hearing. Although Juturna is in my all time favorites list, I still thought this was a perfect CD; it is just following down the path that On Letting Go was clearly indicating. Blue Sky Noise certainly wasn't what I expected, but I grew to quickly love it in its own way. Circa Survive did not lose the passion that they had in their earlier work, it has just been directed in a less aggressive angle.
Five stars for fans of Circa Survive and Anthony Green.

This release represents a further move towards the middle for Circa Survive. Similar to On Letting Go, the band has traded some of their dark urgency for better production and more accessibility. With the exception of "Glass Arrows", their sound is much less interesting and immediate. In Aviate does a better Circa Survive than Circa Survive now.
