This WAS my third attempt at purchasing a microphone for some Web Based Multimedia Training that I am developing. The other two manufactures that I purchased were junk. They hissed and popped and just plain sucked! I was at my witts end. However, this Microphone by Blue Mic was an excellent investment. IT WORKS GREAT! I plugged it in and away we went. I use the Adobe products it worked out of the box with both Captivate and Presenter. I highly recommend this microphone.

I bought this for my daughter to use with her Mac. She has really enjoyed it and the sound quality is good considering the price. It was easy to set up and has not given us any trouble thus far.

Test drove this thing at a buddy's house last night and it rules.
We recorded a full band situation from the middle of the room
and also close mic'ed some guitars. It all sounded great.
We tried every setting.
To the previous reviewer, maybe Blue doesn't support Vista much
because Vista sucks? Just go back to XP or upgrade to 7.

The audio is so clear and crisp without any pops. Plug and Play USB makes for easy install and the stand is a sweet addition. Great Product, Awesome Price! Enough Said!

I had heard rave reviews about this microphone both from friends who own them and famous people that I talked two who own one or more of them. All of them said it produced a quality beyond expectations, so I ordered it.
Not only did the order come in earlier than expected, it was in pristine condition and sealed brand new. It was easy to set up--all I had to was screw the mic to the Ringer Shock Mount and plug it into an unused USB port--and I was quickly on my way to recording songs.
The quality is much better than I expected. When I record vocals, it picks all the parts of a voice that I need and leaves out the background noise perfectly. When I use it in live webcam sessions or video conferences, it activates when I speak and keeps the background noise to a minimum while reflecting the same quality of audio as recording.
It is the best mic I have used, and it's right in my dorm room. I just place it on my desk when I need it--no need for big expensive mounts that take up floor space. It even works better and easier than some of the mics I've seen in professional recording studios. It is definitely worth the price. I definitely recommend it to the hobby cover song recorder and to the professional-yet-simplistic audio tech alike.

The title says it all. It works great with Garage Band and Quicktime, but not with Logic 9.

I have used the Blue Microphone with Audacity and have recorded a number of my church's choir rehearsals and burned CDs for the choir.

It works well and looks great. I purchased the ringer shock mount too.

I bought one a few years ago, it worked great with XP. But since switching to Vista with a new machine, I can't get it to work and it appears that Blue has not issued any updated drivers. Support seems to be minimal.

I bought the Blue Snowball with great expectations for use with my new iMac with Garageband and Logic Studio. Unfortunately, I was VERY disappointed by the VERY low gain despite going through all the settings possible. Apparently, going by the comments on various newsgroups it seems that Blue know about the problem but as yet there is no fix. I could only get even a moderate signal by speaking about 2in from the mike and even then it was not good. According to the Blue website you could download some driver software fix but it only appears to work with old models. Blue have even removed comments from their website presumably because they are tired of all the complaints. I have replaced the Snowball with a Samson C01u which I must say works brilliantly with plenty of gain without any driver software. Looks like my Snowball is destined for eBay!
