Strong and fast
It ain't cheap, but it's surprisingly fast and durable. The suspension is ingeniously simple - large diagonal slots for the axles, no springs or extra parts to break. The wheels spin freely on metal axles, so the truck goes very fast. I originally got my 3-year-old a different monster truck with a more sophisticated spring suspension, but he broke it (partly broke it)...

Breaks way too easily!
Our boys love these trucks and really enjoy playing with them, we have 6. Now the negative.. The top of the truck is metal but the bottom is plastic with 2 screws holding the top to the bottom. The screws come out from the bottom which detaches the top of the truck from the bottom. The screws are very small, took us 30 mins to find...

Now the negative.. The top of the truck is metal but the bottom is plastic with 2 screws holding the top to the bottom. The screws come out from the bottom which detaches the top of the truck from the bottom. The screws are very small, took us 30 mins to find 1 one day just so we can put the truck back together. 2 of my sons just came to me with their trucks showing me the plastic bottom broke. Understandable if it just happens to 1 but the screws fall out on all 6 of them and we have 3 that have broken already and they are less than a month old.

I originally got my 3-year-old a different monster truck with a more sophisticated spring suspension, but he broke it (partly broke it) within a week. He has had this Blue Thunder one for over a month, playing constantly with it, taking it to bed with him, and it's not even bent. The plastic bottom half looks a little tacky, but the metal top half looks great.

WOW!!! These are fantastic little trucks. Perfect size and weight. Great soft tires. Axle design is brilliant!!!! Love LOVE LOVE these trucks. They could not be better. Very high quality and super cool looking. PERFECTION!!! By the way, I think you need to get at least two. It's the sort of toy that a boy will want to play with, one in each hand...or one for dad, one for son...as you chase each other around. Highly recommend if you have a kid that likes trains and trucks. It's great to see toys made by someone that gets it! A well deserved top rating. Thanks guys!!! By the way, I got them for my 16 month old son, (he's truck crazy). Not sure how safe they are for small boys, but no issues to report and he loves them.
