4.0 out of 5 stars Summary of story
Loveswept 86/ March 1985. #2 WHITE SATIN. Book BLURB: Part Gypsy, part untouched golden child of the sea, Kate Gilbert was the most bewitching woman Beau Lantry had ever seen. Rashly he agreed to help rescue her friends, risking his ship, his crew, even his life. But Kate was no damsel in distress, he discovered, and showed him it was all he could do to match her...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, not great
I like Iris Johansen's mysteries, but this was 60% romance, 40% mystery. Characters were interesting; the hero a bit of a clique. The heroine' was the most interesting character, but he wasn't in it that much. A good read, though.

I was a little disappointed with this book - not one of the author's best.

3.0 out of 5 stars I read it but would not say I enjoyed it, January 12, 2012
This review is from: Blue Velvet (Kindle Edition)
The heroine in this book is unbelievable and frankly I did not like her very much. I understand the author was trying to give the hero someone he can appreciate and trust after his past but she is constantly taking on unrealistic situations and refuses help from those who could help her. Frankly she is a pain and other than the sexual chemistry and the honesty that is an attraction for the hero I am left wondering why he would want to be with someone so self-righteous and so much trouble....
