My friend gave me Fisher-Wirth's book of poetry for my birthday. I devoured it in one sitting. Then, slowly, I savored each poem. Her word usage is almost perfection. Billed as the autobiographical lyric, the poems stand true and quiver with realism. Fisher-Wirth is unflinching. I especially love the poems about caring for her mother and daughters. Having lived in Mississippi once, I appreciated her respect fot her home without losing perspective on the history of the place.
