Product Description

BlueDriver is a Diagnostic Scan Tool. Find out what problems your vehicle is reporting when the check engine light comes on. Generate a Repair Report that contains information such as Code Definition, Possible Cause(s), and Top/Frequently/Other Reported Fix(es) for your specific vehicle. You can email the report to yourself of even your mechanic. Need to discuss your scan results with friends? Post your results to your Facebook Wall and start talking. You can clear the trouble codes to turn off the check engine light.

BlueDriver also supports reading and clearing ABS trouble codes on Ford, GM, and Chrysler vehicles. Support for more vehicle manufacturers to come!

Find out if your vehicle is ready for a smog check. BlueDriver can record and log various sources of data from your vehicle. Other great features even provide a visual alert when you exceed a predefined speed.

The BlueDriver App works with the BlueDriver Sensor sold here. The Sensor simply connects to your data port located inside your car near the steering wheel. Every car made since 1996 has a data port.

IMPORTANT INFO: Older negative reviews focused on the fact there was a charge to unlock more advanced features within the BlueDriver App. We have listened and now all features in the App are free! (additional Repair Reports beyond the first 5 free reports can be purchased at a nominal price).

I liked the idea of this product, but I have two suggestions. First, I think they should make it much clearer in their description in the iTunes App Store that it is very limited unless you purchase the add-ons @$1.99 for each piece of data or $49.99 for all of them. These can ADD-UP. Second, they should do what they can to provide a list of vehicles and what data particular cars are capable of providing. I know this could be a challenge, but I just returned the BlueDriver hardware because my Honda 2004 CRV only provides error codes, speed, and RPM's. If I had known this beforehand we both could have avoided the inconvenience and expense. Just because your car has an ODB II port doesn't mean it will provide much info other than error codes, especially if it's old.

The idea of the product seems interesting but it is limited unless you pay an extra $49.95. The device that I got connects to my iPAD but it does not receive any codes or any data. I'm fairly disappointed and I'll return the device... I'll continue to use my ELM327 code reader.

Buyer beware: This product represents a bit of a dirty trick on the part of the manufacturer. Yes, the module has a fair price, but unless you just want a simple OBD-2 reader/reset, engine speed (rpm) and road speed (speedometer) be prepared to start tacking on mobile app fees. EVERY gauge or engine sensor beyond the two listed is an additional cost. And the app is only 'meh,' a little weak on features (doesn't tip-roll from widescreen to book mode to match device orientation, no design, color choices,) the little s things that tend to make apps worth paying for. What makes the Lemur Blue Driver app worth paying for is the fact that nothing else works.
Also, this device does not work with anything Android. I'm finding this money-at-every-turn a typical attitude with IOS products (Iphone, Ipad, etc.)
It seems they are trying to pass on bloated developer fees through the consumers who dare buy this product. In the end I feel this product is NOT a good deal for the hobbyist, kid trying to show off neon stuff on Main Street or backyard mechanic.

I purchased this item to supplement existing engine gauges for my 2000 Kia Sephia at a hobby/curiosity level, as I already own hand-held OBD-2 reading equipment.

Experience:
Connected easily enough, low-profile so it doesn't get in the way. Expect to pay $2.00 for every parameter you want to track.

If you are not particularly bothered by device-specific and paying significant software prices after shelling out for the non-generic hardware, you'll enjoy this device.

I bought this BlueDriver OBD II Sensor (BlueTooth wireless connnection to iOS device) with a clear understanding that the free app has "limited functionality", and that additional functionality (ie: additional paramaters to monitor) could be added one at a time ($1.99) or all features unlocked for $49.99.

When the sensor arrived (on a Friday), I plugged it into my auto's OBD II port. The LED illuminated blue, then extinguished, with quick red flashes about every 15 seconds. I was unable to get anything, as the connection timed out, on the iPhone app. Via the app, I sent an email to support, explaining the situation. Unsure if my auto's OBD II port had problems, or if the BlueDriver sensor was faulty, I waited for our other car to arrive home, the next day, so I could try the sensor on that car.

Saturday morning, I had an email from tech support, asking for some addtional information, and some things to try, and asking for a report back. Meanwhile, our other car arrived home, and the sensor acted the same, which would lead one to believe a bad sensor. So, later, on Saturday I wrote again to tech support, reporting the results.

On Sunday, I got an email asking for my mailing address and phone number. They would FEDEX another sensor module on Monday, so expect a Tuesday delivery, with details to follow on how to return the non-functioning sensor.

The replacement sensor arrived, as promised, on Tuesday. This sensor worked first time, and I am very pleased with the sensor and free app. I may go with more functionality, but for now I can read my codes causing the CHECK ENGINE light, and reset them myself, once I correct the issue.

Works as advertised. Won"t let you start without EULA agreement, which resides on server, not app. Server was down for two days when this arrived. So couldn't use it initially. Interface is purely digital, so no analog gage's or displays. App always launches when car is started and receiving I- device is present. So beware of battery drain if bluetooth is on your Iipadvor iPhone. All in all a better value for the money than traditional auto parts store obdII readers at a comparable price.

Have only messed with it a little, but it does what it says. My only apprehension is that there are a few other no names that say they do the same for a lot less. I was skeptical of the no names. This company has their own dedicated app, so I felt a little more confident in it. So far so good.

Works just as advertised. Would have given it 5 stars if it has a drag race setting. Clock your 0-60 times, 1/4 mile times ect. I shot off an email to the manufacturer already and told them to make it happen. We shall see.
