This light is a bear to assemble! It tells you to fold the cord, push it into the tubes and be careful not to pinch it when you connect the tubes together. It took me 25 minutes just to coax a tiny bit of cord at a time into the tubes. I had to pull them out, refold and try several times. It was grueling and didn't seem like a very good way to put it together.

And then they tell you to "line up the screw thread holes and insert the screw in being sure to tighten completely." There are 2 of these on the pole and it is virtually impossible to keep the cords happy AND try to figure out exactly where these threaded holes are. I gave up on this one - the screws are not in as tight as they should be but the lamp seems to be stable and I promise not to swing it around or hang from it!

As far as the light goes, I like the actual light including the dimmer option. It would be nice if the flexible part really flexed lower down but it is acceptable. I have a similar light that is a table top version that I can maneuver to get it closer to my work or book. Therefore it gives better usable light since it is not as far away.

If I had it to do over I would purchase another desktop light and put it on the end table by my chair. But, there is NO way I want to disassemble this one now to send it back now that I finally have it together!

Within a few minutes of unpacking this sturdy lamp, I had it set up next to my chair. I chose it for its flexible arm & dimmer control. It gives plenty of light at all settings & I find myself reading longer because the light is close to daylight & easy on the eyes. It's a very good value for the money.
