Choose from three energy-efficient speed settings: low for 80 cfm, medium for 115 cfm, or high for 140 cfm. The unit draws air in from the back and releases fresh air out the top, delivering a CADR rating of 106 for smoke, 116 for dust, and 139 for pollen. Its progressive filter traps up to six times more dirt than competitive models, plus comes with a powerful carbon filter to help remove odors.
Thanks to Blueair's commitment to the environment, standard triclosan-coated paper or glass filter fibers have been replaced with safer, nontoxic polypropylene, one of the least harmful plastics, which produces only carbon dioxide and water as it decomposes, which means no toxins released into landfills or the air. Polypropylene's also waterproof, so the air filter naturally resists contamination from bacteria, viruses, and mold, without chemical additives or washes. Change the filter about every six months for high-quality long-lasting performance. One bonus HEPASilent particle filter comes included. This is a great air purifier for a single room. I have severe dust and mold allergies, and can now sleep in my old, dusty, moldy house without waking up because I can't breath. I have been running it 24/7 with no noticeable change to my power-bill.

This solved my daughters dust mite allergy problem. She had been waking up
every morning too early with minor but persistent coughing and throat clearing that would start around 4:00 - 5:00 am, and continue so she was not able to get back to sleep. Getting up and going would stop it until the next morning when it woke her up again. We cleaned her room thoroughly many times, but were about ready to replace the (3 years new) carpet with hardwood in her room because we could not resolve the problem. But this machine does the trick. Almost no coughing or clearing anymore in the mornings before she gets out of bed. She slept until 7:00 today. Any purifier may have fixed this, but this one did it for us so I'm very happy with it. It was important for our needs that this one filters out very small particles. It's also very quiet and the blue light acts like a night-lite for her (I would tape over that if this were in any other bedroom). And it's simple to use: we turn it on in the late afternoon (a simple dial switch that clicks into four settings - off, low, med, high fan) and off in the morning.

I bought this on the recommendation of my Doctor of Oriental Medicine, who owns one herself. She thought the wood smoke particulates in my home were bothering my respiratory system and she was right. This unit makes the air feel and smell fresh and clean and within a couple of days I was breathing better and had less respiratory issues bothering me. Well worth it. And small enough that I can move it from room to room easily (and I am 64). Highly recommended. It also came with a free filter, an additional $49 value, which I thought was fabulous.
