LOVE it!,
By ShannonCC "shannoncc" (NJ USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Blueberry Shoe (Hardcover)
My 2 - 1/2 year old and I both love this book! The drawings are beautiful and the story is great! I especially love the way it reads out loud. It doesn't rhyme, but is very poetic in a way. An absolute joy to read to my child over and over again. We took it out of the library a week ago and have already read it a few dozen times. On a car ride tonight my daughter started reciting lines from the book about the mama fox and her kits, and the ptarmigan and then started telling us the story! So now we're going to buy a copy for ourselves because neither of us can bear to give it up!

Great to Read Aloud!,

My kindergarten class loves to hear this story about the shoe's adventures out blueberry picking since they are all blueberry pickers themselves. Great illustrations with vivid color and lots of action. The story is even more special to them because it includes the animals that they see every day out on the tundra. Thanks Ann and Evon from the Bristol Bay School Kindergarten Class!

A Must for Children,
By A Customer
This review is from: Blueberry Shoe (Hardcover)
Ann Dixon is a gifted children's book author. All young children should have the opportunity to read or hear this book. As a parent I never grew tired of reading the book to my child. I hope Ann writes more of this type of book for youngsters.

This book follow a family that goes blueberry picking. Baby looses her shoe. Animals find it & cut nibble whole in bottom, put dirt & blueberries in, etc. All by accident, but when the family goes back a yeaR later a blueberry plant is growing in baby's shoe.
I liked that the artwork was not the usual exact illustrations. It is good to show kids that there is a lot of different art & types of illustrations out there. I liked the story - it was sweet.

This story was disappointment given the other reviews and not written as well as I had hoped. My nephews enjoyed Blueberry mouse so much more as did I.

This is a great little book. It's got a simple little plot line that is just perfect for toddlers and preschoolers. The art is beautiful, and the story is sweet. My 1.5 year old loves this book, and I look forward to many more readings of it.
