Some really good stuff, even if you don't like bluegrass.,

I thought this was a joke, but after listening it appears to be some very good stuff. The music never goes below or above the original recording, basically it keeps to the original only using acoustic instruments. The lead singer has some very good pipes, and while sounding "hick", keeps to the original with the added southern flavor.
Adding one or two of these songs to your mix tape will no doubt be a surprise to your next rock party.

This isn't, like, the greatest album known to man -- but it's good. I don't think I like Bluegrass, but it's a nice change of pace in cover music. I love to turn on the album while I'm doing other stuff, and sing along, and generally just feel relaxed. It's mellow. I can listen to it over and over again, and it never stops being fun. I think the singer has a great voice, and the instrumentals are fun.
Some of the songs are better than others, but I've not had buyers remorse about this album once. I think I'm definitely gonna try their other album. |
