Book Description

This is the first book in the New York Times Bestselling Bluegrass Brothers series. This series is the follow-up series to Kathleen Brooks' bestselling Bluegrass Series.

Cade Davies is an ex-Army Ranger, teacher, and the new head coach of the high school football team in Keeneston. He barely has time to adjust to all of the changes in his life before he runs into the school's fiery new guidance counselor and a new threat to the peaceful town of Keeneston.

DEA Agent Annie Blake was undercover to bust a major drug ring preying on high school athletes across the South. After her transfer from Miami to Kentucky, Annie looks to make her career by solving the biggest case the DEA has open. What Annie didn’t count on was becoming the local gossip. Amid marriage bets placed by the entire town, a priest as a landlord, and a trio of thugs after her, Annie looks to Cade for help in bringing down the drug ring before anyone else is hurt. But can the unflappable Annie deal with the feelings that follow?

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite of the Series April 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Okay, I know I give a lot of 5 stars but thats because I love these books I'm reading so much. Plus, if I do stumble on a book I don't like, then I just don't rate it, cause something I don't like, others will love.

This book was smoking hotttttt. I loved it the most out of all the books and thats saying a lot because the first book was soooooo good. It's been my favorite up until now.

I loved the humor in this book. There was humor in all the books, but it really shown through in this one, and I could feel the emotions rolling off of each person. I was tense during the football games, cheering when she kicked some butt, and laughing during the facials. I loved this story and highly recommend to anyone who loves more than a romance story. I love my romances to go on and on, and I will be on pins and needles until the next in this series comes out. Let's all just tie Kathleen Brooks to her desk until the entire series is complete :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't want for her next book! March 31, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I was lucky enough to find her first three books this winter and read them back to back. The fourth book did not disappoint. I recommend starting at the very beginning since Ms. Brooks does such a great job setting the scene, introducing you to a wonderful array of memorable characters. Still, even if your desire is just to start with Bluegrass Undercover I say go for it! This book has good suspense and a great romance!

2.0 out of 5 stars Simple and silly July 6, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I really did not like this book much at all. The storyline itself wasn't bad. However, I really felt like it was written by a teenager or amateur. First, there were a lot of grammatical errors, which COULD be a Kindle thing and not the author's fault, but I found them distracting nonetheless. On to the story...
I think it was supposed to be a mix of action and romance, with a little comedy mixed in. I think it failed on all three (well, I *did* laugh on occasion but more because it was so ridiculous). The story of undercover agent brings down a violent drug ring was ridiculous. It was so unrealistic and silly...they even referred to the criminals by the names of the three stooges who literally fell over each other multiple times. The attack scenes were just laughable (and not in a good way). Plus, everything just fell into place a little TOO easily.
As far as romance, if you want a steamy novel, this is NOT it. There is only the briefest mention of sex. Romantic comedy movies are hotter than this book. Nothing about this book is remotely realistic, and I just couldn't taken anything about it seriously. Sorry. A lot of people seem to like it based on the reviews, but I wish I had known some of this before I got the book.

Kathleen Brooks has done it again! I loved the story line and the characters. Immediately you become aware of the love and caring that went into writing this book. This is the fourth Bluegrass book, and I can't wait until the fifth comes out!

2.0 out of 5 stars Review of Bluegrass Undercover January 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Simplistic with no real character development. All protagonists are such perfect physical and mental specimens and their skills, presence, etc in a small town in Kentucky way too far out of realistic. This is mystery lite.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best book of the series (so far)! April 22, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I loved this book. I agree with the other reviewers that it is the best of the series. I couldn't put it down and finished in one day (it is a full length novel). All the characters are well developed, and I love catching up with past characters from the previous books. This book had a lot of football in it, which I am not a huge fan of but I didn't mind it and was really interesting to read about. I felt like I was either on the sidelines with Cade or in the stands watching with Annie. There were more laughs in this book than I have read in a romance in awhile.

The story centers around Annie, an undercover DEA agent and Cade the football coach taking down a drug ring for high school steriods. The action and bad guys were the most entertaining parts. And of course I love reading about an over protective male with a special forces background thinking he needs to protect his women who doesn't need protecting.

Cade & Annie's story was great. I can't wait to read more from this series. If you haven't read the first 3 books you could probably read this book and still enjoy the whole story, but I would recommend starting from the beginning. It looks like Marshall is up next.

2.0 out of 5 stars ugh November 9, 2013

I just couldn't get into it. I put it down and read several others before I pick it back up to finish. I guess it has romance, but if you're looking for hot love scenes this doesn't have it, it's a PG book

5.0 out of 5 stars Just keeps getting better December 5, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is the fourth book in this series I have read in three days. Agent Annie Blake goes undercover in Keeneston Ky looking for a drug ring responsible for the deaths of highschool athletes. Enter Cade Davies newly appointed football coach and teacher with a secret background to boot. You will fall in love with the humor and closeness on this small community. They laugh together suffer together and are basically quicker then any law inforcement agency when it comes to information. The relationships of the characters in this series are real and believable and wll leave you pining for more.
