The Dust Bowl Cavaliers took the music of Tenacious D and created their own unique and original twist on a funny and talented band. For those of you who are afraid of something a little different, dont take a dive in the creative pool. But for all of you out there who are looking for some great talent and a new twist on the "greatest songs in the world", buy this cd!!!! This band has the voice and the sound to pull it off, and they did a fantastic job of tributing to the music of Tenacious D.

I was really looking forward to hearing a Bluegrass Tribute to the hilarious originals, but was really disappointed in the lack of range of The Dust Bowl Cavaliers. Every song sounds pretty much the same, and while it was enough for a few chuckles, it doesn't have a lot of replay value to me. I will be turning back to Tenacious D themselves, or else be picking up a different tribute album in my collection (perhaps Me First and the Gimmie-Gimmies).

This CD is one of my favorite CDs I own. If you like Tenacious D or if you like tribute CDs you will really like this CD. I don't know if you can call yourself a Tenacious D fan until you have at least heard this CD.

I sort of bought this on a lark, but my splurge ended up being well worth it. This has to be one of the best uses I've had for $8.99 in a long time. This somehow manages to combine my love of Tenacious D with my love of bluegrass. For anyone who ever thought that that last song could've used more banjo, buy this album!

I've seen some of the guys in the Dust Bowl Cavaliers (specifically Mark McConville and Cory Rouse) perform with a local improv troupe, out here in Los Angeles. They are extremely funny on stage, so I can only assume that their work with Tenacious D's songs are great as well. I'm an avid Tenacious D, and I plan on giving this CD a go. The clips seem right on the money. F--- Her Gently is hilarious!!!
