5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book!, October 2, 2011

This review is from: Bluegrass: From the lonesome wail of a mountain love song to the hammering drive of the Scuggs-style banjo, the story of an American musical tradition (Hardcover)
This was one of the first books I recall reading on the subject. It is a great book, well researched and an excellent place to start reading about what is now the history of bluegrass music. Little did I realize when I read the book at the Thomas J. Powers Library at Offutt AFB in the late 70's that I would later come to know the author and occassionally have the opportunity to pick with him...great guy.
