Blueprint 2 AGAIN + 2 hidden tracks (WHERE'S THE NEW STUFF),
By name (East Coast, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Blueprint 2.1 (Special Edition w/ 2 Bonus Tracks) (Audio CD)
I'm definately a Jay-Z fan. I never thought I would give a Jigga album two stars. Don't get me wrong, if you didn't buy the first Blueprint 2 you definitely should buy this album. If Blueprint 2.1 came out first I would have given it 5 stars, but this is simply a repeat of B2. I was hoping the tracks would be remixes or something other than a repeat of B2. If you own a copy of B2, it makes absolutly no sence to buy this album, because you already have these songs except for the 2 bonus/ hidden tracks. Which could have been release separately on a maxi single. The bonus tracks are HOT, but you need to decide if it's worth buying the whole CD just for 2 new tracks.

Jay-Z The Blueprint 2.1,

This review is from: Blueprint 2.1 (Special Edition w/ 2 Bonus Tracks) (Audio CD)
This album should have been the original Blueprint 2. 1. A Dream (Featuring Faith Evans & Notorious B.I.G.) - Thought there would be an unreleased Biggie verse but it's just the 1st verse from the classic cut "Juicy", but anyways it's a really good track with alright production. 4/5 2. Hovi Baby - Awesome song, with good production, check out the remix on the Dysfunktional Family Soundtrack. 5/5 3. Excuse Me Miss (Featuring Pharrell) - 2nd single way better than O3' Bonnie & Clyde. Cool video 4/5 4. 03' Bonnie & Clyde (Featuring Beyonce') - I wouldn't like it even if he didn't rip off 2Pac. I hate it. 1/5 5. Gun's & Rose's (Featuring Lenny Kravitz) - Good Rap/Rock track, I heard it was supposed to be the 3rd single, but I guess not. 4/5 6. The Watcher Part 2 (Featuring Dr. Dre, Rakim, & Truth Hurts) - One of the best songs on the album, almost as good as the original on Dr. Dre's Chronic 2001 album. 5/5 7. All Around The World (Featuring Latoiya Williams) - Alright track, with good production. Features Latoiya William's of Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle Records. 3/5 8. Some How, Some Way (Featuring Beanie Sigel & Scarface) - Great album with an awesome verse from 'Face. 5/5 9. Meet The Parent's - Awesome storytelling track, one of my favorites. 5/5 10. Ni99a Please (Featuring Young Chis & Pharrell) - Good production from the Neptune's, with an ok verse & hook from Roc-A-Fella recording artist Young Chris. 4/5 11. Poppin' Tag's (Featuring Big Boi, Killer Mike, & Twista) - I love this song, fast rapping from Twista. Check out the remix with Ludacris, Big Boi, Killer Mike, & Twista in it. 5/5 12. The Bounce (Featuring Kanye West) - Impressive rapping debut from Kanye, also good production. 4/5 13. 2 Many Hoez (Featuring Memphis Bleek) - Good beat with average rapping. 3/5 14. What They Gonna Do Part 2 - I like the original a lot better. This is the same with a different beat and without Sean Paul. *Bonus Track's 15. La La La (Excuse Me Miss Again) - 1st single off of this album, as well as The Bad Boy's 2 Soundtrack. Better than the original with production from the Neptune's. 5/5 16. Stop - Ok song produced by Swizz Beat's. 3/5 Watch out for the Black Album featuring 12 song's with 12 producer's that Jay-Z respects.

The only reason JayZ released this album is becasue he realized he had 2 many wack songs on the double cd. Should have only released 1 cd in the first place. Jayz definately fell off on this album from a classic Blueprint 1 to an average rap album. I was not amused by Jayz's new projects. Jayz needs to reclaim his self next time around better. Perfectly summed up in the words of Common "I can tell how you rap you ain't hungry no more"

This cd is just songs from blueprint 2 but the songs on 2.1 are like the hottest songs on blueprint 2. I have all of Jay- Z's cd's because it's something about his voice and his words that make me like all his music. So if you are a Jay-z fan this cd is for you. (the bonus tracks are on fire!!!!!)

This cut off all the wack stuff from Jay-Z's Blueprint 2 double album, which in my opinion is one of his most uninspired releases ever. However, this still has a lot of filler on it. There's a low point in the middle of the album and if those four songs were cut off, this would be a great 10 track album, and would rival some of Jay's best work (well, not rival, since Reasonable Doubt is classic, but it would be a good album in its own right). My opinion is that one should download Blueprint 2 and make a sick mix with one's own favorite songs. I didn't have this previous knowledge and went out and got 2.1 (not 2, thankfully), but now you have it, so get to it!

I was a bit annoyed with this album, fisrt of all the best song on here is probably dream feat b.i.g.The thing that was annoying was that the bonus tracks were really good, instead of putting them in normal tracks u have to wait until the last track on the album is finish.Otherwise it just goes back to the start. There are'nt that many good songs either apart from dream and excuse me miss, and the bonus songs. Most of the songs are wasted, its ok but your better off getting nas-god's'son or unreasonable doubt.

Jay-Z - Blueprint 2.1 (Roc-a-fella, 2003)All of the wackest material is gone from the double album Blueprint 2 but filler still remains on this version. Jay should have downsized a little more to make a perfect EP. The end result would only have "The Watcher 2", "Poppin' Tags", "All Around the World", "U Don't Know Remix", "Meet the Parents", "The Bounce", and "La-La-La (Excuse Me Again)". On second thought, just skip this and go straight to The Black Album. -EJR

Don't get me wrong, I love Jay-Z but I don't understand why he'd even drop this album. The guy is near the top of the rap game, but it seems like he pretty much made this album just to add a couple of stacks of cash to his collection. All of these songs can be found on Blueprint 2 except for two bonus tracks. The bonus tracks are hot, but there's no need to buy this album unless you don't own Blueprint 2. This album is basically a 'Blueprint 2 Greatest Hits' collection. At least he put 'A Dream' on here. I really love that song. Definitly one of Hov's best tracks since Reasonable Doubt dropped. But stay away from this album, just get Blueprint 2 and download the bonus tracks.
