5.0 out of 5 stars Never Gets Old, November 6, 2004
By
A.J. (Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Blueprint (Audio CD)
First of all, I'd like to say that I have owned this album for well over 3 Years now, and have not become sick of it. I am usually hesitant to write a review right after I buy an album because just like a relationship you're in love with it of the bat, and then after a little while everything is exposed. This is the same thing. I have owned this album since it was released back in '01 an it is STILL in high rotation in my CD player. This is an absolutly Solid Canadian Rock Album, and all the songs will get stuck in your head. The strongest songs on the Album are: Baby Cool Your Jets, The Best Way To Die, Lies By The Thousands, The Goodbye Letter, Blueprint & The Night It Went Too Far. JSS Have have decent success with this album selling tens of thousands of them and thus becoming one of the country's biggest semi-known bands. This album starts off really good with hard rocking tracks and then slips off into more balld-type rock towards the end. I would really have given this album a 4.5 Stars out of 5 because of the almost "Putting To Sleep" ending, however I was not given that option, and seeing as I still play this album like it was new 3, well almost 4 years later, It deserves a 5.

4.0 out of 5 stars JET SET SATELLITE'S TALENT IS THE BLUEPRINT FOR DEBUT CD, March 28, 2002
This review is from: Blueprint (Audio CD)
Here is another fine talented band out of Canada whose sophomore disc gives them a promising future in an over-saturated sea of bands. As a straight-forwarded rock/alternative band, Jet Set Satellite attempts to stand apart from sounding like "every other band"; and they almost succeed. The opening track, "Lies By The Thousands" incorporates a unique blend of chant-like harmony. It is cleverly done so as not to be overbearing, but not too subtle so that it goes unnoticed. This in itself distinqushes the band from sounding like another carbon copy. "Best Way To Die", perhaps the heaviest sounding track, along with the ballad "Blueprint" and the aforementioned "Lies By The Thousands"; are definitely the strongest tracks on the disc. "Tinfoil Star" and "Afterglow" has an errie Pink Floyd feel. "After The Rain", the weakest song on the disc, becomes obnoxious rather quickly, as does "The Night It Went Too Far." "Suddenly" is a bit to whinny. "The Goodbye Letter" and "Baby Cool Your Jets" are good ol' rockers.
Overall, this is a fine sounding disc.
