5.0 out of 5 stars Help me a lot during rotation but mostly for the Step 2 CK.
Neurology is a dificult material and this book hit the jackpot. The cases in this book are the one that going to show up in the exam. I used as part of my study for the Step 2 CK and I score a 220.
Good Luck!

I'm on case 32 now (out of 60) and I've come across about 8 questions with wrong answers (each case has about 3-5 questions). 4.0 out of 5 stars Good book, January 3, 2011

I've found the Blueprint Clinical Cases books are a great size to keep in a coat pocket with case lengths that make them perfect for reclaiming a few mins wherever you find them. It can't be your only book for the clerkship but it's a good second book.

The key to this series (like Case Files) is the quality of the discussion section and answers to questions. By comparison the Peds book was much stronger. Unfortunately the neuro discussion and answers are less detailed, fail to point out important contrasts and include more errors.

Bottom line: recommended as a second book if you find yourself wanting to study 10 mins at a time.

I'm on case 32 now (out of 60) and I've come across about 8 questions with wrong answers (each case has about 3-5 questions). The correct letter states one thing and the explanation seems to point to another choice. But, you are never sure since the explanation never repeats the correct choice (in addition to the correct letter choice what that choice said) in the answer section. Answers simply gives you the correct letter choice and explanation. In most cases this would not be a problem since you can figure out what the correct answer is by reading the explanation. But, many of the questions are things as med students are not familiar with. I'm pretty good at neuro and I find myself having to look up a lot of stuff that the question and explanations refer to. So, just be reading the explanation many times I still couldn't figure out what the correct choice letter was. Plus the explanations are not very thorough. It seems to speak to someone who's a 2nd year resident in neurology in order to comprehend some of the explanations. The content of the book is decent.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not for USMLE, July 7, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book is too comprehensive for a Neurology Step 2/3 review.
The content is well organized; however, as I said before is not USMLE format.

5.0 out of 5 stars great for the shelf, June 13, 2010
This book was perfect for what I needed to get me through my neurology rotation this year. More focused than case files, and a better book for this particular rotation in my opinion. Lange clinical neurology is also a great book, but better serves as a reference for presentation topics, working with a particular patient, etc; it is too much for the shelf exam and most students would have trouble reading through the whole thing during the rotation. The blueprints clinical cases was just the right size for a casual read during the rotation, and paired with a question book (like pretest) it was perfect prep for the shelf.
