This review is from: Bluer Than Velvet (Silhouette Intimate Moments No. 1031) (Intimate Moments, 1031) (Mass Market Paperback)
Laura looks up Sam the sherrif turned private eye not for help in finding someone, but for help in hiding herself. Sam's suprised by the early morning request since Laura's wearing a fancy blue velvet dress and looking like the morning after a night on the town. After getting over his impressions #1.that she's a prostitute hiding from a john, and #2. that she's a runaway wife he agrees to take the case and takes her to his home to hide. While hiding from the local mobster's son who wants to marry her, Laura tumbels into a love square involving Sam, his dead fiancee and her slowly turning insane sister who wants Sam for herself. Bluer Than Velvet is a funny quick adventurous read. I love Mcbride's previous title for SIM #966 Just One Look. Mcbride write contemporary classic love stories with a modern quirky twist. I impatiently await more from this author.
