A Blend of traditional and eccletic blues !,
By
This review is from: Blues 2.0 (Audio CD)
This is so far one of the best recent blues album ive heard. This guy incorporates a wide range of instruments in is songs but it keeps the blues essence (Banjo, Trumpets...). The Blues on the Banjo is astonishing ! The Lonely traveler Is gone is touchy. Also the lyrics are sometimes funny and sometimes serious. How can someone not love this album ?

Song of the Year!,

Blues 2.0 is the best CD to date from the multitalented Fruteland Jackson. His music is as unique as his name and the title track, Blues 2.0 is the best Song of the Year. To date, no one has interpreted the day to day grind or given it a voice the way Fruteland has. Do yourself a favor and buy this CD.

Blues 2.0 a 5 Point Hit!,
By Louis Cannizzaro (Stony Point, NY USA) - See all my reviews

Fruteland has found a groove in the Blues, he fashions traditional style acoustic Blues with a taste of Jug, then mixes it all up with stories of the present tense to hone in on the heart. Check out the title track, he has transformed the field holler into a street holler of anthem proportion for all of us "workers" imprisoned in our 9-5 work-a-day worlds. Fruteland shows us that as long as there's music, there's HOPE!

I was looking for this CD for quite some while and hadn't really used Amazon to search for it. So when I was shopping for Christmas gifts I decided to do a search and then I found it. I ordered a new one and i received it right away, now I had one of my own Christmas gifts! Blues 2.0 is a great new version of a railroad work gang song put to new words, I can feel the spikes being driven in as I write.

This is a great cd. The music is very sparse but has a lot of energy. Several of the sounds have a tendency to get stuck in my head. The lyrics are clever. He definiely has a sense of humor.

Phenomenal CD. The title song is a modern day anthem for the workplace. The rest of the songs aren't half bad, either.
