Editorial Reviews

From the Artist

The Blues According to Zacariah is one of the best CD's I've done to date. After winning the International Blues Competition (IBC) in 2004, many people were asking about what type of CD would I do. I decided to do something that was fully representative of my blues journey to date, thus the title The Blues According to Zacariah. The songs are reflections of my many childhood influences, taken from the "Blues Bible". My favorites are "That Mighty High" which is from the book of The Canton Spirituals, "That's Why" from the book of Little Milton, "Sugarman" from the book of Albert King and of course, "Who's Knockin" from the book of The Allman Brothers. The Blues According to Zacariah moves the blues forward but does not forget from where it came.

--- Zac Harmon --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.

Product Description

After winning the IBC title and while continuing to perform live across the country, Harmon carefully assessed the state of the blues and his own state of mind, seriously committing himself to writing, recording and producing his next album. The Blues According To Zacariah reflects his commitment to the blues and to keeping it real, as he takes you "from the pulpit to the juke joint" with such standouts as "That Mighty High", "Who’s Knockin’", "It Hurts Me Too (featuring Miss Mickey Champion) and "Comfort of a Man" (with Greg Wright). --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars According to Zachariah, the blues will stay alive!, August 15, 2006
By
Being an avid blues fan I am always on the lookout for that next one as so many are touted to be. I've been fortunate enough to see so many of the great players of past and present. Muddy Waters, Albert King, Luther Allison, Little Milton as well as the current greats. Such as, BB king and Buddy Guy, and the list of the living legends is growing shorter every day. And seemingly out of the blue comes Zac Harmon, with a sound that seems to link the sturdy foundation built by the blues greats of the past with the new edge often being played in the blues today. But this time it was done right. When great song writing, and great guitar playing all come together the result is a great CD. I don't think it will be long before Zac Harmon will be listed with the greats I mentioned earlier in my review. After hearing this CD I jumped at the chance to see him perform live when he came to MD. The only thing better than this CD is his live show, its nice to have an artist exceed expectations today. This is a definite buy.

Other than one track, Manish Boy, the rest of this disc was just ordinary.
