5.0 out of 5 stars Best Blues!!
I can't believe someone said Gary can't sing. I was first attracted to this album three years ago after hearing "Still Got The Blues" on the radio. I was completely taken by both his guitar and his expressive and emotional singing voice. After three years, I still almost tear up listening to him. 3.0 out of 5 stars Good Rock/Blues
If you are looking for a good live rock/blues CD this one will satisfy you. Gary Moore is a first rate guitar player. It's really too bad he can't sing or he would be a real power house. None-the-less, his great command of the guitar is really interesting and he does provide many tones, moods, and velocities in this live set.

I can't believe someone said Gary can't sing. I was first attracted to this album three years ago after hearing "Still Got The Blues" on the radio. I was completely taken by both his guitar and his expressive and emotional singing voice. After three years, I still almost tear up listening to him. The song "Still got the blues" alone is worth the price of this CD. Throw in "Story of the blues" and "Separate Ways" and you have a blues classic CD. I love when a really talented guitarist can express strong emotion without words. I like it even better when they have the ability to express the same emotion in their singing. Gary Moore is a master of all that; better than anyone I have ever heard. Listen carefully to any of the songs I mentioned above, and I defy you to say he doesn't express the emotion of the blues better than anyone.

This "Blues Alive" is really a great blues album.Gary Moore is one of the best guitarists i've heard playing blues. This performance of Gary is absolutely fantastic, and "arrasadora"as we say here in Brazil. This cd contains a great adrenaline dosage and is not recomended for those that aren't in tune with the modern blues performances. The rock'n roll fans, excuse me,but Gary really plays better when he plays blues! One of the best cds of my collection!

5.0 out of 5 stars A new convert, July 2, 1998

Heard "The Sky is Crying" on the radio, found out who the artist was, immediately drove to the record store and bought the CD, hasn't left my CD player since. Gary Moore is now firmly established as one of my guitar Gods along with Steve Morse, Joe Satriani, and Trevor Rabin.

5.0 out of 5 stars Moore stands with the best, August 4, 2008

I've owned the DVD of this performance for several years after hunting it down on the Internet. If you haven't seen the video that accompanies the great music on the CD, track down a copy of the DVD and you'll be surprised at the new dimension the video adds. From B.B. King's playful performance with the crowd (and his clear admiration for Moore's skills) to Gary's passionate guitar-playing and deft fingerwork. It's really a treat to see. Moore is indeed underappreciated but stands with the best of them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Blues-Rock CD., June 29, 1998
By A Customer

A Wonderful CD for people who still enjoy Guitar playing these days. Production is very good for a live album, as the tone of Moore's guitar is first rate. His voice is also in good form. For all his wonderful chops, he can still play a warm melodic slow line with the best of them.

5.0 out of 5 stars IMPRESSIVE!!, November 6, 2004
This review is from: Blues Alive (Audio CD)
This guy can rock. There are some great guitarists out there that never get the recognition they deserve......to me, this guy is in that category. Great tone on his guitar, especially for a live performance. Some very fast but clean licks. Check it out.

5.0 out of 5 stars wow!, September 29, 2000
This review is from: Blues Alive (Audio CD)
This album changed my life and definitely how I play the guitar. It was just what I was looking for. I was a rock guitarist who happily stradled the line between Van Halen and SRV/BB King/Chuck Berry for years.

Wow when I heard this album it knocked me out. Here's a guy that plays with an amazing fire and what a tone!
