Product Description

The popular Nickelodeon Jr. show for the 2-4 age group does an excellent job of introducing simple vocabulary and numerical concepts in these two episodes. In the first, Steve and his dog Blue's house is labeled to discover what book Blue wants to have read to her. The labels (everything from "refrigerator" to "wall") are treated lightly, Steve mostly asking the audience to name the first letter of each word. Steve and Blue also work on constructing a simple sentence. In the second episode, Blue wants to buy something. Simple counting games and a shopping trip to The Present Store make for a solid exploration of numbers. Addition, subtraction, and even fractions are on the menu.

My oldest absolutely loved Blue when he was 1 and 2 yo.
Miss Tresninos
It really teaches them the alphabet, as well as how to count and even some simple math.

It's highly educational, has great music, and Steve is an absolute riot!

This video has brought my son and I a lot of quality time together. We have the entire series. My son who is only 21 months old watches Blue and Steve all day long. With the counting and reading of this video, my child has delevoped much faster as far as language skills, especially since I speak to him in Portuguese and his dad in English. I believe this video along with the others in the series are a must for small children and I can testify that they don't have to be 2 to get started for my son has been watching it and loving it since he was 13 months old.

The entire Blue's Clues video series is a must have for any preschool age child. By focussing on specific concepts, in this case number and letter recognition, children learn fundamentals through repetition and creative, interactive game playing. The characters are adorable and innocent, and the children feel as though they have really accomplished something when told over and over that "they are really smart." I highly recommend this video (which I believe won the Parent's Choice Award) as well as all others in the series (Story Time, Arts and Crafts, Blue's Birthday and Rhythm and Blue).

This video is one of my son's favorites! It really teaches them the alphabet, as well as how to count and even some simple math. It really keeps my 2 year olds attention, so much so that he really doesn't know that he is actually learning something while he is watching - thats the magic of this video. I thought it was much better than some of his Sesame Street videos that try to teach the same concepts. A must-have for your video library!

Hi, This video is our daughters favorite. This one we have purchased a second copy of. We thought videos could not be worn out, especially after we only bought this copy 9 months earlier. This gets watched by our 2 year twice daily EVERY day. From a parents point of view it's a great learning tool for kids and fun with the "absorbing" quality that gets kids everytime. How sad it is, that we find ourselves sitting down too and watching it almost daily. This edition is the favorite, as we have 2 others. It covers ABC and 123's and although we have read other reviews with parents saying their 3 year old and under not suitable, we must admit that our 2 year old loves it. I guess every child develops differently and each to their own. One thing is for sure ... it's better than Teletubbies and you actually learn something here with Blue, Steve and the gang!

My son learned to count to 10 and say part of the alphabet before he turned 2. I believe this video helped a great deal. I especially like the Blues Clues series for its encouragement, simplicity and good manners.

Thanks to this video, my 15 month old daughter no longer has any interest in Teletubbies. Emma was immediately captivated by the First (ABC) episode. She took a little time to warm up to the second (123) one. My husband and I loved this tape from the start. And not just because it replaced Tubbies. It's highly educational, has great music, and Steve is an absolute riot! A must have!

My 2 year old and I love the Blues Clues series. This is my personal favorite because of the matter-of-fact but clear way counting, spelling and the use of currency are covered. When my son (with no prompting) suddenly announced how to spell "Steve" at the breakfast table, my husband nearly fell out of his chair.

Yet another wonderful video from the creators of Blue's Clues! This one is especially good as it teaches toddlers the basics of simple math (counting, subtraction, etc) as well as the alphabet. It really pushes reading skills as it labels all of the objects in Steve's house. He prompts your child to yell out the letters in the words. This is a wonderful video that is fun and educational at the same time. A must for any toddler!
