Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com
Steve attaches a bow tie to his famed Rugby shirt and--voilá!--his and Blue's house is a small restaurant serving cheese sandwiches and spaghetti. But the chef team of Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper are missing the ingredients for spaghetti sauce and, of course, that is what all four customers order. So Steve and Blue jump into a grocery store picture to shop for the makings and gather clues for Blue's favorite dessert in the process. The food theme continues in the second episode, "Snacktime," as Steve tries to figure out what his dog wants to drink with her food. Kid viewers learn shapes while putting away groceries and visit a felt farm-scene where they are asked to match chicks in hats. Shapes, counting, color recognition, and what the Montessori folks call "practical living" are the lessons of the day in these entertaining 25-minute mysteries. (Ages 2 to 5) --Kimberly Heinrichs

5.0 out of 5 stars The Cafe' episode and the First episode ever Aired!, January 10, 2002
By "roogirl" (Akron, OH) - See all my reviews
The First Episode on this tape is where Steve, Blue, Shovel, Pail, Tickety, and Periwinkle(HE RULES!) play resturant and Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper cook the food for real! And Steve and the viewers figure out what is the dessert. The Second episode "Snack time" is the FIRST "BLUE'S CLUES" EPISODE EVER AIRED! It also Features Steve, Blue, and Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper, and Steve and the viewers figure out what drink Blue wants with her Snack.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Daughter Can't Get Enough of Blue!, May 25, 2002
By Rae "K & J's mommy" (Williamstown NJ United States) - See all my reviews
My daughter has loved Blue's Clues since she was 6 months old. Ever since her first DVD Blue's Big Musical I was forced to collect the tapes. Blue has taught her many of her first words. She said Blue, Mail, Clock and Think. Now she's 21 months and I know anything I get her with Blue on it will be her favorite. This particular video Cafe Blue is one she likes a lot. I am not sure why but I do believe it is because of the situation Steve is in when he needs to take the orders of the characters dining at the pretend restaurant. In closing I would like to say if anyone feels they need to supply their child with educational entertainment I highly recommend Blue's Clues.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellect learning tool and fun, May 7, 2003
By "six64ever" (New York, NY United States) - See all my reviews
My 21 month old loves this video. Every night he asks for Blues Clues and flashes his hands. He sings the songs, jumps up and waves his arms when the mail comes, and draws on his Magna Doodle every time Steve draws in his book. He has learned his colors and shapes from this video. One caution, in the first episode one of the clues is a cookie. When that cookie hits the screen my son goes running for the kitchen.
