Unless you have a patient child and lots of time on your hands, AVOID THIS GAME. Your 3-4 year old will want to play it all the time just because it's Blues Clues. However, it contains 100 tiny cards that have to be sorted into 25 specific sets of 4. Since the game provides no means of storing the cards in order, an adult has to spend 10 minutes setting it up before you can begin. By that time your 3-4 year old will either be screaming, or have moved on to something else. If you're lucky, you will find some tiny rubber bands and have the cards set up for next time. Of course, you'll have to set a guard dog on the game to keep your child from messing them up when you're not looking. If, by some miracle, your child is interested and the cards are in order, you will find the game interminable. The kids quickly tire of performing the same actions over and over, and we have always had to cheat to get to all three clues. As soon as my kids go down for their nap today, I am taking this out to the trash. I would not even subject some other unsuspecting parents to this game by saving it for a yard sale.

I bought this toy for my four year old daughter last X-mas and It was the WORST game we have ever wasted our money on. There are WAY too many cards to sort out and once the cards get lost or ripped majority of the game is useless. Strongly recommend staying away from this toy.

My 4 year old can't play this game and I doubt any 3 year old could play it properly. You have to draw the clues for other players to see and children that age can't draw very well. It is more entertaining for the adults that have to play with the child. And everyone else is right - all those little cards are a hassle.

This is a good game, though I agree with other reviews that the puzzle cards are a pain. We just keep them in order in a stack secured by a rubber band. Yes, they escape now and then, but my 4 1/2 year old loves this game after a year and a half of owning it. The puzzles are fun to figure out, and he likes doing the actions when he lands on action spaces.

Just Like the TV Show!,

This game plays just like the TV show, where you are searching for clues with Blue, trying to solve the game. I bought this for my 4 year old nephew and we LOVE IT! I have to distract him with ice cream to get a break from playing it! You may have to sort the 100 cards into 25 sets of 4, but that is a game in itself. We enjoy setting it up together--it's a bonus game of matching that you could actually do without even playing the game. But once it is set up, it is quite educational for the child. The graphics look just like the cartoon on TV and he loves trying to solve the puzzles--over and over again! Get this game if you want to spend quality time with your child.

I bought this for my son when he was only 2 and we still play it now that he's 4. He loves this game, and it doesn't ever become boring. While playing, you may land on a square that makes you dance, wink or turn upside-down, among other fun antics that keep you from sitting too long. While going around the board, you collect clues and get to draw them in a notebook (not included with the game). After you collect three clues, you guess what Blue is thinking about. My son LOVES to act out the show in this way. The organization of the game pieces could be better. There are many small cards to keep track of and you have to organize them in order to play a game. The game itself doesn't offer an easy way to store the cards or set up the game quickly. The way the game is designed, you could easily personalize it by adding your own fun antics and even your own clues.

I bought this game for my 4-year-old son, and it is his favorite! He usually makes up a different game with different rules each time he plays, but then he does that with most games. This game allows him to use his imagination and creativity. He doesn't worry about making sure all the cards "match". He will pick three random cards to be the clues, then try to figure out a way they can be used together.

My kids and I play this game all the time. The game plays just like the show. The kids have to travel around the board that is designed to look just like the house. The graphics are great and look just like the cartoon version on TV. My kids GO NUTS traveling to each room, picking up clues. They cannot wait to get to the next room, so they can see what the clue is and write it in their notebook. We have played it so much, we made our own clues out of paper and the kids try to figure out things like "daddy's still sleeping" and "help daddy rake leaves" The kids get a kick out of what little jokes I will create. It's a fun game and a must have for any fan of Blue's.

My almost-four-year-old daughter, a Blue's Clues fan, got this from my parents as a holiday present a few months ago. She and my dad opened it up to play and we nearly went mad having to get all the cards out & together. Once you have them in sets, there isn't even a storage system in the box! They eventually just found a set of cards from among those already taken out and we played that way. My husband spent an entire evening a few nights later sorting the clue sets into snack-sized plastic zip bags. What a stupid setup for a game aimed at kids who can barely count, let alone sort. GRRRRR.Other than being a bit confused as to the actual direction in which you're supposed to start moving at the beginning, the game is cute enough. She loves it. I'm OK with it - like that it teaches her to draw & think, certainly, but it's a bit simple to keep my attention. For a future version, I strongly recommend that the manufacturer find a different way to do the clues. One idea: a triple-wide rolodex-type system in which there's a tab for each clue set. Flip to the number for the set you want to use; each time you land on a room, unlatch (flip up, slide off, whatever) some sort of key cover to see the clue. Same for the next clue. Nothing to assemble; nothing to misplace; no hundred cards for Mommy to have to pick up if the box gets dropped or kicked or thrown. May add a dollar to the end cost, but boy would it be worth it!!! If that's too expensive, then have the card sets pre-punched and already laid out in little dispenser slots or trays within the box so it doesn't have to be redone every time the box is opened. But like I said, the game is cute. I'm just so frustrated by having more little pieces of stuff to keep track of that I don't have lots of happy thoughts about it yet.
