Detroit Jr. was Howling' Wolf's piano player in his band from 1969 until the mighty Wolf's death on 1/10/1976. His brand new Delmark Records release "Blues On The Internet" was recorded August 25 and 27, 2004 and features Lurrie Bell and Maurice John Vaughn. A new version of his signature tune "Call My Job" is laid down for a contemporary audience, and included on the Enhanced CD is a video clip and interview in the Apple "Quicktime" format (PC users will have to download the program) . At 73, Detroit Jr. is as with the times as most musicians half his age. This is also a first for the Blues; as one of the old masters titles a 12-bar blues album in reference to a Computer. Detroit pounds all 88 ivories with a youthful exuberance that embraces changing times, yet remains exact musically when embracing the traditional blues format. Thankfully, Delmark Records has been listening to the requests yearning fans, and is sponsoring and releasing projects that will excite both young and old listeners.
