Elmore James (January 27, 1918 - May 24, 1963) was an American blues guitarist, singer, song writer and band leader. He was known as The King of the Slide Guitar and had a unique guitar style, noted for his use of loud amplification and his stirring voice.

Another great compilation from this label. They manage to put out the best of each artist at an unbelievable price. This collection of Elmore James focuses on his early Modern years. The sound is raw and rockin', with Elmore belting out the blues as only he can. If you don't have any elmore, this is the place to start.
