Lonnie Johnson was an accomplished guitarist, equally at home soloing, in duet, accompanying himself or others in the blues, or within a band, including that of Louis Armstrong. This is delightful compilation of his work, mostly from the twenties, which includes two sides recorded in May 1927 but not issued at the time. Also included are five of the six duets recorded with Eddie Lang and issued as by Lonnie Johnson and Blind Willie Dunn. Just sublime.
