Beautiful mellow blues,

This is a wonderful album of what I would call "Mellow" blues standards. Some fly fast, most swing slow, but all are beautifully arranged. Chris and Duke blend together very well, playing in quite similar styles, but each having their unique individuality. Willow Weep for Me is by far my favorite song on this recording, and I think is well worth the album price.I had the privelege of meeting Chris and hearing him perform live with a small group a few weeks back and was totally impressed with the wide array of styles he could perform. While this is a small sample, it is a fantastic start to introduce yourself to his music if you aren't familiar with him at all.

Excellent Guitar Work!,

Producer, guitarist, vocalist Duke Robillard joins fellow guitarist Chris Flory on this CD for a pleasant mix of smooth jazz tunes and swing standards. The CD also features the vocals of Sugar Ray Norcia, formerly of the Roomful of Blues and current frontman for the Bluetones, on "Willow Weep For Me", and "Please Send Me Someone To Love". The guitar playing is exceptional and smooth throughout with many of the tunes seamlessly blending the guitar parts of Robillard and Flory. This is 70's swing music at its finest and is both easy and enjoyable listening. Should be enjoyed by Jazz fans and Blues fans alike.

Blues in my heart, my review from Barcelona (guitars enjoyment,
This review is from: Blues in My Heart (Audio CD)
I think this Chris Flory's "Blues in my heart" is a good JAZZ-BLUES effort and a wonderful basically guitar album with great interventions of the leader of The Bluetones on vocals Sugar Norcia in two marvellous songs as Anne Ronnell's "Willow Weep For Me" whit BLUES flavour and Percy Mayfield's "Please Send Me Someone To Love" with JAZZ flavour, Scott Hamilton's sax on "Shine" and the brilliant "If Dreams Come True" and in this case with another important name, the producer, great guitarist, and vocalist Duke Robillard founder of Roomful Of Blues which blend together with Chris playing in quite similar styles. Besides songs mentioned above there is an extraordinary guitar demonstration in "Bernie's Tune". In a short words very good record and I give it 3,5 stars.

I think this is a good effort. Good choice of songs that are unusual but tuneful. The guitar playing is great but soemtimes its a little boring to hear just guitar. some piano or more horns would have been good.
