This review is from: Blues Records 1943-1970: A Selective Discography Volume 1 A-K (Hardcover)
The absolute, basic source of information for details on any Blues record you would ever want to know about..... that is, if their last name is between A-K.

This is the 1987 follow-up edition to the much heralded original Blues Records (1943-1966) that first appeared in 1968. After Mike Leadbitter's untimely death in 1974, co-compiler Neil Slaven quietly worked on the manuscript, which greatly needed updating.

Why does it stop in 1970? Originally, that's when the updating for the 2nd edition began, so it seemed like a logical choice for a stopping point at the time.

'Where's the rest of it?' you may be tempted to ask. A complimentary volume, Blues Records L-Z, came out in 1994; however the print run was far less than it was for A-K, and it is much harder to find.

Blues Records was recently updated again by Eyeball Productions, released in October 2005. However, that new volume strips out a lot of the extra information that this volume contains. If you are a true 'blues nut,' you'll definitely want a copy of this classic Blues reference sitting on your book shelf.
