i'm a big PT fan from ancient times, but you don't have to be to love this record. if you like superlative hard blues, you will find this recording totally engrossing. pat's voice never has sounded better and his playing is as tasteful and enjoyable as it ever was...and who knew liberty devitto, billy joel's longtime drummer, was so unbelievably good?! his presence is strongly asserted on every song...
there are no weak spots on the record, every song is interpreted and arranged thoughtfully and with interesting twists and turns...
if you only have one PT recording, which is really a patently absurd notion, you should have this one...

4.0 out of 5 stars More Electric Blues Rock -Pat Travers style!!!, February 4, 2005
This review is from: Blues Tracks 2 (Audio CD)
If you liked the first Blues Tracks (1992), you'll love Blues Tracks 2. The material this time is all covers, but ramped up enough to make them true PT classics. The drummer this time is none other than Liberty DeVito (Billy Joel) and boy does it show. Liberty is one pounding drummer for sure.

From Johnny Winter's "I Guess I'll Go Away" to the Allman Brothers "Whipping Post" to Jimi Hendrix's "Purple Haze", you can't go wrong. The original artists would be proud to be represented by Pat's gutsy, blazing, rewrites of their classics.

Get it, listen to it, and smile!!!

It's that simple! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars More Tasty Blues/Rock, October 3, 2008
This review is from: Blues Tracks 2 (Audio CD)
This CD is a continuation of the excellent material that is on the first Blues Tracks CD. Very well done and entertaining. Travers injects his own style & flavor on every track! I would recomend this and the first volume to any fan of heavy blues music, especially PT fans.
