Lubaroff & Co. glide through seven diverse standards drawn from various eras with assured, graceful command. The title track is a fittingly rambunctious original blues dedicated to Saul’s two young sons. The disc’s warm, transparent sound (extreme kudos to engineer Ed Karr and co-producer John Svec) manages to strike a perfect balance between studio clarity and concert immediacy. From jump street to closing time, Blues 4 Zane & Will is a mature, polished and invigorating trip. You will enjoy the ride.
