A wonderful young artist,

I purchased this cd as an import thereby incurring the highest price. It is worth every penny. I appreciate the other reviewer's comparisons to Parker and Stitt but I think Joh can stand on his own. Everything on this record is wonderful but my favorites are "Never Let Me Go" and "I've Never Been In Love Before".To the lover of that smooth, sweet, ever so sweet, sophisticated jazz, I strongly recommend this cd at whatever the price.

One of the best Be Bop albums in a long time.,

I like Yamada because he sounds just like my favorite artists Charlie Parker and Sonny Stitt. If you like Parker and Stitt, you will definitely like this CD. It's good that a young artist can capture the sound and feel of Charlie Parker. It's almost like Parker is still alive. I whole heartedly recommend this CD for any lover of Classic Jazz.

I had heard a version of "Never Been in Love Before" on the radio and wanted to get a copy for this song. I thought that Mr. Yamada was a capable but not very adventurous player who played a melodic watered down version of Bird or Stitt. It sounded a bit too much like wedding band music but, while not ground-breaking or innovative, was well played and inoffensive.
