Hidden software purchase strategy for Bluesoleil,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bluetooth CLASS2 Mini Adapter Plug-n-play 10 Range (Personal Computers)
I bought this adapter after looking at the fantastic reviews. The adapter does not work effectively with Windows XP. After following the half-baked instructions in the manual, I downloaded the so called drivers for USB50BT for windows XP. Turns out the drivers was actually a software called 'Bluesoleil'. Automatically the software registered itself as an evaluation copy which means it switches off itself after 5-10 minutes till you restart the software again to listen to the music or buy the full version of the software. The adapter does seem to work fine with the software and I could listen to the music on my Motorola S9-HD from my PC without any interruption but then when I checked how much the software costs to buy, it shows around 20 EUR which is crap. I think the merchant should notify the customers about the purchase of the software if they buy this doongle.
I am returning the product.Bluetooth CLASS2 Mini Adapter Plug-n-play 10 Range

Yet to get it to work with XP,

I bought this dongle based on the glowing reviews and the immediate connectivity. When I opened up the package, it said I needed to download the software to connect audio listening devices if I have XP. The micro -innovations site isn't exactly user-friendly, but I did find the site with the drivers. Now of course, the link with the drivers will not load. It is quite an aggravating experience.

Driver is trial software,
This review is from: Bluetooth CLASS2 Mini Adapter Plug-n-play 10 Range (Personal Computers)
Horrible. Got the dongle, plugged it in my computer, and couldn't get it to work with my headset. Did some research to find the drivers, and the drivers are imbedded in a program called "BlueSoleil", and it's a trial version. If you wanna get it to work, you'll have to pay for this software... what a load of crap. Stay far, far away from this device.

An All-Around 'Sucky' Product,

This review is from: Bluetooth CLASS2 Mini Adapter Plug-n-play 10 Range (Personal Computers)
Opened product, and plugged it in. My XP based computer said it saw it, but ultimately was unable to install it. I reviewed the product literature which recommended downloading software by Soliel for my XP Windows system. I installed this software, but never got the software to work for my Plantronics 520 headset. Meanwhile, about 10 minutes after booting up the newly installed software, the Soliel company closed the software down, and then demanded that I must pay them $27 USD to continue to use their software (bear in mind, which didn't work anyways)! Contacted Micro Innovations (MI) to ask if there were a different manner to connect, but the MI's tech support rep didn't even know that any download was even required, and instead pointed me to a useless U-Tube general video about how to install and pair generic bluetooth adapters! That was the icing on the cake.
I finally came to my senses and realized that either MI was hoping that I would finally wear myself out after running around long enough in the circles they were suggesting, and that finally I might give up, so as not to return their device, or else someone at MI simply had a very odd sense of humor! I'm now returning this very odd piece of hardware to my vendor. I just found out that Plantronics makes their own Bluetooth Adapters, which cost a bit more, but which apparently are quite simple to install and quite reliable. Plantronics Adapters, here I come!!

After wasting my whole day unsuccessfully trying to get this bluetooth adapter to work with my laptop (vista) I finally give up. I purchased it to use my bluetooth headset with skype. When I connected the adapter to my laptop, the installation initiated automatically. It asked me to insert a cd that came with it. Since it didn't come with any kind of cd, I chose to find soft automatically. After checking up the computer gave me this message: "windows was unable to install your bluetooth peripheral device". I went to the MicroInnovations website to get the missing drivers. I downloaded and installed the USB50BT driver which turned up to be some kind of program called bluesoleil which was very not-user-friendly and did not help in any way to get the issue resolved. In addition it has a limit of 5 mb and prompts you to purchase a full version of the program after about 15-20 minutes of use. I also looked up the manual for bluetooth headset set-up in Vista, but it does not match what shows up in my computer. For example the computer does not see my headset devise so I can add it and start setting it up. I don't know what the problem is. The guy from microinnovations customer support was not helpful either. He said that the system should install it automatically which does not happen. I tried it several times, uninstalled the program and installed it back, restarted computer, nothing worked. Overall, it was a terrible experience. I'm gonna give it another shot and try to figure out the problem before I'll return it to wherever it came from.
Vista users, be careful purchasing this item!!

OK, nothing was ever this easy. I didn't order bluetooth from Dell for my laptop because of the cost and no real need at the time. Since getting my first smartphone, I really wanted to sync wirelessly rather than having to pull out a cable every time. I bought this because of the price and great reviews, although I doubted it would be that easy. When it arrived I was first struck by how incredibly tiny this thing is. I keep it plugged into one of my USB ports all the time and don't even know it's there. So anyway, I plug it in and Vista installed the drivers right away and that was that. I paired up my phone in no time, and now my phone sits across the room in it's charging station and syncs with my PC effortlessly (and the data transfer speed is excellent). I love this little thing!

Plug N' Play Perfection,

I plugged the Micro Innovations Bluetooth Adapter into my USB port and Microsoft Vista instantly recognized the device and in seconds it was ready to use. Now that's the way Plug N' Play was supposed to work. I've owned other brands of Bluetooth USB adapters and the adapters I owned required the manufacturer driver and I incurred problems. If you want a trouble free USB Bluetooth device with a 33 foot range, I recommend this device.

Just what I was looking for.,

The size and form factor are nice, the case styling is good, but the most important thing about this USB-Bluetooth adapter is the Cambridge Silicon Radio at the heart. Cambridge Silicon Radio is one of the few brands of Bluetooth chips which is known to have the qualities that allow it to be used with Sony's Dualshock 3 wireless controllers, and this one works flawlessly with the right drivers installed. The signal is reliable and stable, and has worked perfectly at all distances tested thus far(up to about 20 feet)

I plugged it in and it was ready to use, thats it.
Really small (that makes it slightly difficult to remove) and can be kept plugged in when storing in a laptop case. Cheap and easy to use

This tiny adapter is perfect - protrudes only the least little bit, yet its range is way more than needed for a BT mouse. All one could wish for.
