I was tracking this product and it was for the mid $40s. Now the same product is almost $60? Was there a deal I missed? Jun 7, 2014
So, I'm interested in this speaker as well but I'm having a real difficult time with the fact that people originally bought this speaker for less than 40 dollars (one reviewer even quoted as low as $35) and as of now it is $63. I have scanned through all of the 102 Amazon questions and, at best, I see this: "Hi, We have been making lots of changes to this speaker to improve it as much as possible and make much better. As we do this we need to increase the price. Rather than a one time jump we thought it would be better to slowly lift the price. Some of the upgrades have already been implemented and some more are coming in the near future. The current price seems to be the final price where it will stay ($62.99)" Seems not quite right. More than a 50% price increase for essentially the same product. Raise the next model's price but not the existing model. If there are more upgrades coming in the near future then why would I buy this one if the newer, better one will have the same $63 price. It's just leaving a bad taste in my mouth that I can't quite get past.
They said the new upgrade would include dim lights for the buttons, what happened to that? Jul 20, 2014
They ARE there. The unit I ordered and received November 2014 DOES have lighted buttons when the unit is turned on. There is a hidden photosensor behind the rear facing grill which acts to progressively brighten the top buttons as ambient light decreases. It's quite nice. They are not overly bright, so they aren't distracting. The top buttons also have white symbology (which is different from the product pictures on the black unit I ordered) which makes them easier to identify.
anyone who has tested this and the photine soundscape 8 can tell me which one is better May 27, 2014
Well it really depends on what type of sound you want .there both great. But the photine soundscape 8 is more on the instrumental vocal detailed sounds and some good bass that makes sound live . Its a portable mini systeme in your hands excellent product . The sharkk now if u like bass and mids and treble . You like some humming type bass with your music and just want turn it up and jam . The sharkk is made for that clear sound very excellent bass if you want it. Overall both great hard choice I own both of them. but I mainly use the sharkk cause i like bass in my music. The only thing I could say about the sharkk is when it turns on its makes a loud bomb sound and a voice tells you info about paring device or in coming calls .wouldnt recommend for an oiffice . The soundscape doesn't do that more on the quite side just a simple beep sound and flashing light it's more for an inside use like a home or office area .so inside use soundscape 8. Other outdoor use and don't mind the start up sound bomb sound and like bass . Sharkk is one.
Compeering Sharkk to Photive CYREN, which you prefer Photive is about $10 cheaper? (I'm including tax) May 13, 2014
Todd, I haven't tested the Photive so I am not the right person. However, check out Paul's review about Sharkk. He has compared Sharkk against the popular bluetooth speakers out there including the Photive. http://www.amazon.com/gp/pdp/profile/A1MBGLP2CH1BND/ref=cm_cr_pr_pdp Good luck!
I bought this a few months back & returned because of the obnoxious voice announcements. Does current version still have voice? (I would buy if "no") Jun 19, 2014
This voice and noise prompts have been significantly changes as well as volume significantly lowered since your order a few months back. The volume us going to be reduced even more in the near future.
The first week I owned mine I wondered the same question, so after a full charge I left it on for over 3 days just to see if it would run out... It didn't. I also played it intermittently.. I was and am still very impressed and happy with my Sharkks speaker; use it every day and couldn't be more content! To answer your question.. I really don't know exactly how long I bet if you send the company an email they'll get back to you quickly.
One is the speaker and one is the packaging. The speaker is: 2.3" x 7.4" x 2.7"
