I made the mistake of not noticing that this unit is not compatible with Windows 7 64 bit. It will actually work, but the generic Windows bluetooth driver doesn't offer the ability to control connections via the PC. If you are using a smarter device such as a phone or a PC to connect, you will be fine. I was using a Microsoft mouse. If you don't have a way to request a connection from the device you are using, you are done. This would also hold true with a headset, mouse, keyboard, etc.

Now, I would have forgiven these shortcomings since I obviously didn't read the fine details. However, when I realized that it would not work for my use, I decided to take it home and take a different mouse to work. I took the dongle home and plugged it into an XP Pro 32 bit machine, which it is supposed to totally support. Ok, everything connected ok, or so I thought. I came back 20 minutes later and guess what? Dead mouse. I connected it again, and in another half hour, it was disconnected once again. I got tired of dealing with it and left it alone for a couple of days. Now that I came back to it, it seems to be totally dead. I can't connect at all, even after rebooting the PC, reconnecting the dongle, etc.

Be aware that this device includes no drivers. Also, within the 10-15 minutes of use I did get out of it, it gets suspiciously hot. I couldn't imagine using it on a laptop on battery power. Anything that generates this type of heat has to be using some power.

Once again, spend a few more bucks and skip this piece of junk. As for my technical background, I have a BA in Information Systems. The jobs I have held over the last few years include IT Helpdesk Technician, Lead Systems Installer, Software Developer, and Senior Technical Lead. This is the worst product I have come across in the last few years.

The product does exactly what it is supposed to do, but here is the problem: it only lasted me a few days. It just started falling apart. Horrible craftsmanship.
