Let me start by saying that I have been a faithful JLab customer since the beginning. The reason why is because I am an audiophile on a budget. This will be an in depth review, covering sound, design, and comfort.

Firstly, I am testing with an HTC One M8 (which supports aptX), and music files of 320 kbps quality. I use Viper4Android (EQ) to add natural bass (which I do on all headphones/earphones). I can share my specific settings upon request.
___________

So when JLab announced they would be putting forth a Bluetooth version of the EPIC, I was overjoyed. The EPIC is my favorite product to date, with great sound. Before this announcement however, I tried to get on the 'wireless earphone' train, by picking up a pair of JayBird BlueBuds X earbuds. Oh my word were they horrendous. The sound was awful, with absolutely no bass, and muddled sound. Instantly returned those suckers. That being said, I was then apprehensive about any Bluetooth earbuds. JLab however, did not disappoint with their sound. So let's jump right into it:

___________
The sound:
- 'Highs': JLab seems to have revised the audio profile in these earphones, compared to the original Epic, cutting out some treble. This was a step in the right direction, but I believe they cut out a little too much. In songs with any bass (let's say a bass guitar, or deep keys on the piano), higher notes are hard to make out. So in a song with an orchestra and drums, the violins are barely audible. However, with little-no bass present, this is not an issue. The Highs simply seem under powered.

- 'Mids': The mids by themselves are great. I have yet to hear if they play well with other 'sounds'.

I've been using mine for only a few hours now, so this is just a first impression.

Comfort is good. It took me quite some time to ajust it properly(both wire and ear piece), but once you find a good position it fits nicely.

Sound quality is pretty good too. I think there is a bit too much bass and it ends up overshadowing the treble, but an EQ easily solves that.

The bluetooth connectivity however has been really bad so far. The range itself seems to be fine, but the connection is too unstable. Sometimes, just by putting my phone inside my pocket or maybe covering the earbuds' volume control with my hands, the music starts breaking up badly. And sometimes it keeps working perfectly well even with some distance and heavy/dense objects between the earbuds and my phone. There doesn't seem to be a pattern, and it's driving me mad.

My phone is a Nexus 5 and I've extensively used its bluetooth connection with other audio devices before and I've never had this kind of issue.

Overall these are really good earbuds but this bluetooth problem is just too annoying.

EDIT: I did some tests and the connectivity is not unstable, it is permanently terrible. Way worse than I had previously thought. Even the slightest interferance (eg: my hands or my empty backpack, or even just tilting my head a little bit) can completely block out the bluetooth signal, which is absurd for a $100 device.

Well after an exhausting search for some new headphones to wear while running, playing basketball, and working out I finally settled on these. Now I've only worn them once for a couple hours but it was startling how many times they would drop out/lose signal even with my ipod in my pockets. Literally this is what I bought them for, so I could get rid of the cords. Yet, even on a full charge I would lose signal simply moving my arm through the space between the headphones and ipod. I'll give them another few days of running and I will update then. However if they do not improve I will return them and buy the Sony's. They at least have internal memory that don't need bluetooth.

Update: They finally broke today. Had them just under 7 months. No beuno for choosing 100 bucks. Also the ear pieces are losing their plastic coating, for lack of a better word. See attached picture

I was initially disappointed by these headphones, but now I am satisfied. First the positives: the memory wire wrap-around for the ears works great, keeping the earbuds in place while exercising. The sound quality, like many JLab headphones, is good, with a nice mix of bass and highs leading to a clean sound. I own many different models of JLab headphones and these are by far the best fitting I've had yet. Now the negatives: I purchased these earbuds for walking and exercise. The first time I used them for walking on a cold (19F) and very windy day, I placed them in my ears and let the microphone/volume control module dangle under my chin. During the walk I experienced lots of drops from the Bluetooth connection leading to poor sound quality and choppy playback, either from the wind or the bouncing of the reception unit under my chin. The earbuds were paired with an iPhone 5. The next day, which was equally cold but not windy, I arranged the earbuds in such a way that the microphone/reception unit was around my neck in the back. Configured this way, I had no issues with connectivity and the sound was smooth and clear. If my experience is typical, I suggest you try the latter configuration if using these earbuds for exercising. Of course, this makes accessibility to the volume controls and the on/off switch less convenient, but in my case that is not a problem. As long as this behind the neck configuration continues to work for me, I'll enjoy the freedom of no wires while walking and exercising. This is particularly helpful while practicing T'ai Chi.
