I bought the finger drums originally for my husband. But my 6 year old daugther loves it. She plays with it all the time. I highly recommend this toy for all ages.

This has been fun for our entire family. Officially it's our daughter's gift, but everyone has taken a turn at it. The snare doesn't sound much like a snare, but the cymbal and toms sound just fine for a toy, and the bottom line is that it's fun, creative, and you can record your efforts. Educational? I don't see how, unless you're practicing rhythms and need to hear a recording of yourself. But it's a toy! Therefore it fulfills its role pretty well.

Great discription. This toy is fun for the whole family. I would defintley recommend this item to any musician out there.

the sounds aren't that fantastic (but still cool) and it won't let you make more than one sound at a time. (like hitting the bass and the high hat at the same time) you either get one or the other.

Still very fun to play with.

The cymbals are too loose that they shake, vibrate and make sounds by themselves when the other drums are just touched or when the whole unit is moved.
I am going to return it. I will not get another one or recommend this product unless I hear from the manufacturer.

I bought this for my 2 year old niece and she loves it. She has also tried to destroy it and it held up. Only bad thing is that it does not have volume control, making it loud and useless in an office setting.

My brother is 20 and I got this for him for his birthday. He really enjoyed it at first, but quickly realized that you could only make one sound at a time and that significantly reduced the fun value since he is a musician. The cymbal started playing anytime you plates ANY drum and I had to tape it up to get the sensor to stop firing. Te bass drum then stopped working. I probably should have returned them. Waste of time and money. Don't buy them.

I bought it as a gift. Although it looks good and the drums do a fair amount of good job, the bass goes boom each time you tap any of those drums. It can be really annoying if you are trying to play a rhythm. Kids might love it. More a show piece than of any entertainment value.

First off, if you buy this in a retail store you will pay MUCH MUCH more so buy it on Amazon! I bought this for my husband to play around with on his desk at work. He loves it! And his co-workers couldn't keep their hands off of it either :) It takes some getting used to, I can only manage to work it using 2 hands, but I'm sure with some practice I'd be able to master drumming with only 1 hand. The sound is surprisingly clear and loud. The record feature is awesome! You can come up with a neat beat and record it, the playback is great, it even lights up what drum you were using so you can alter the song if you think something sounds a little off (you'll have to re-record the whole beat though). The drums are very sensitive and pick up the slightest touch/tap which is really nice, however at times it will pick up a vibration too much and cause a drum to sound off that you didn't intend...once again, I believe with some practice this would no longer be an issue. Overall, this was a great purchase! I would highly recommend it to anyone, of any age! Boys will be boys, whether they are 10 or 30...they like to play with toys and make noise/music...THIS WILL BE SURE TO PLEASE!!

I bought this toy as a birthday gift for my daughter. She quickly found out that the cymbals are too loose that they shake, vibrate and make sounds by themselves when she only touches other instruments with her fingers. I thought it was a defective product and requested a replacement, which turns out exactly the same as the first one.

It seems to be more a design flaw: it's kind of difficult to build such a small toy so that the cymbals can be held tight with just perfect amount of the force so they will vibrate when touched but won't shake by themselves when the rest of the instruments are being touched.

I ended up returning the item.
