Bo Burnham has come a long way from uploading funny and punny songs from his bedroom on YouTube. In this special, Bo really lets his nerd flag fly. He ups his game. He goes beyond the singing comedian shtick. He has definitely put his comedic lyrical skills to great use, not just in the songs and raps, but also in sonnets and haikus. And if "Oh Bo" is not stuck in your head by the time the special ends, you are devoid of life!

Bo Burnham is the most insightful comic in the business. His combination of jokes and jaw-dropping disposition provide a lot to laugh about and a lot to genuinely consider (respectively). In this special he strays from his piano-based songs and explores poetry, hip-hop, traditional stand-up, and prop comedy and all of the mediums are effective. The song "Art is Dead," provided valid and sobering truths, while "Oh Bo," will surely please fans of his first album. I have had friends over to watch this special and so far it hasn't disappointed anyone I've shown it to.

If nothing else, this kid is pretty exceptionally talented. Decent music, clever word play, and outright original humor. Be prepared for profanity, but don't let it be the reason you miss this kid's performance. Worth watching more than once (you'll catch new things every time) just for how genuinely clever he is, even with a few moments where he may be too quick for his audience. Too smart to miss.

No person or subject is out of bounds, love him or hate him, he won't care which. He's a good reminder that we take ourselves a little too seriously.

His performance is near flawless. Buy this if you want a comic with a sophisticated edge.

This is the sort of comedy special that you can watch over and over again and still find it funny. There is variety, both between the comedic styles and the level of the jokes. Song, stand up, spoken word, it's all there. Bo does this amazing thing where he can switch from really simple things like fart jokes to incredibly deep smart humor. Also, you have to give the guy props for making the title of the show a reference to Hamlet, and then quoting one of the soliloquies in the middle of it. He even takes it down a little in "Art Is Dead" a gorgeous song that really hits home as a commentary on modern comedy and fame. Bo is witty, clever, smart, and hilarious, but also appreciates the simplicity of one-liners. I would highly recommend this special to anyone.

Bo Burnham is wise far beyond his years, and is just getting started. He's incredibly socially aware and has an amazing sense and control of his timing.

Honestly, this is my favorite stand-up show I have ever seen. I've watched it too many times to count. The songs he makes are witty and clever and smart and stupid and existential all at the same time. He makes you sad, laugh, and think about your existence all in the same song and it's just wonderful. Bo Burnham is a gift to the world. If you like George Carlin, Dane Cook, Daniel Tosh, or any other comedians that aren't scared to joke about dark subject matter, than you'll love Bo. He does what so many great comedians do, and at the same time he puts a lot of it in song, which to me is a maaaaajor plus. I would definitely suggest Bo to everyone.

This is probably one of the best standup specials I have seen all year. Its great to see Bo go away from just the songs because it lets you see how incredibly intelligent he is. I think it would be safe to say that he is a prodigy. I had listened to the cd before buying the dvd, and enjoyed it so I had to buy this.
