2.0 out of 5 stars Best book from a selection of one.
Enjoyed White's book in that I learned a lot about Bo that I didn't know before picking it up. Good depth and stories about Bo's earlier years.

Caution to prospective buyers: I was lucky enough to meet Bo when he came to Boston two years ago. When I asked him to sign this very book he refused saying that the book was unauthorized. This seemed strange...

I first discovered the Great Music of Bo Diddley Years ago, But only Recently has he usurped Chuck Berry, (Who I still love!)As My Classic Rock'n'Roll Idol. His Music, Wit, & Style Should speak to Everyone! Of course, after getting all the great tunes, There was a search for a good Biography. George White's Book from the Mid nineties is the Only one! Culled from extensive interviews, many with Bo himself, tells the story of the man. I would have given it 5 stars, but it was a little strange for Bo's story to be told in the first person, but that it is not an Autobiography. Takes a little getting used to. Great Pics & a Clear discography included. Hopefully the Man himself is hard at work on his own story, perhaps working again with Mr. White. I'll be on the Look out For it!

This seemed strange since much of the book's content seems to be derived directly from Bo?

At any rate, I really wish there were more options to choose from. It amazes me that a man of Bo's influence, achievements and longevity does not receive the attention and credit he is due.

Count yourself among the lucky ones if you were fortunate enough to have seen Bo play live. He toured quite extensively up until his recent stroke and would often take time to tell stories in between songs. We can only hope and pray that Bo gets better soon and that "The Originator" receives the recognition and due stature as one of the most influential musician/songwriters in rock n' roll history.
