Photographs Are Too Small And Not Enough Detailed Descriptions,
By Shawn Kovacich "Shawn Kovacich" (The Greatest Little City in the World) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (TOP 1000 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Bo: Japanese Long Staff (Paperback)
This book has some really good, but brief, information in it and for that I give it high marks. However, the photographs in this book are way too small and are very fuzzy making it hard to see any kind of detail whatsoever. The text that accompanies the photographs is not very detailed and in a lot of cases it seems that the author is under the assumption that you already know what you are doing with the bo, rather than teaching you what to do with it.There was plenty of room in this book for larger photographs and more detailed text and perhaps this is the fault of the publisher and not the author. In any case, this really detracted from the book and from the author himself who is a well known and respected martial artist. I just wish that this could have shown through in this book.
