Does not live up to expectations,

I love the idea of this board but unfortunately within 24 hours of hanging them on my walls (and I purchased 5), the cork bubbled away from the backing and the magnetic aspect no longer worked. I can't help but believe this is a product problem.

I've only had this board a week or two and the cork on it is already starting to get loose and "bubble." Very disappointing! This prevents pictures from laying flat and looks unsightly.

The concept for this product is great, unfortunately the majority of the magnets (other than the ones that came with it) that I have found do not hold stuff on the board. The magnet stays on the board, but once you put a piece of paper underneath, the magnet falls off along with the paper. Such a shame because I wanted them for my son's room and didn't want to have to worry about pushpins.

Worked for me...,

This product actually worked for me. I've put up a couple of them in our kitchen (on the side of our wall ovens) using Command picture hangers which seem to make them pretty sturdy. They hold school notices, party invitations, pictures, etc. using magnets and tacks. They really helped me organize things! I haven't seen any bubbling yet but it's only been about a month since they've been up. They're much less expensive than other options (e.g., pottery barn) and they look pretty good but not the best looking but they do look like cork boards. I'm going to get more for the kids' play room to hold up art projects.

I agree with the review "Just okay". I bought it because it has great dimensions (square magnetic boards are rare) and it looks good. Unfortunately, the only magnets that work with it are the 2 that comes with the board. Paper just falls off otherwise. Disappointing and useless for our home since we cannot use pushpins (small children).

We bought 4 and use it in a lake house for displaying past Christmas cards with magnets. Works well. Would like to see more magnets supplied...

MAGNETIIC CORKBOARD 17 X 17,

I bought this corkboard because I needed something solid to put my charted knitted patterns on. Many knitting books, especially the newer ones use charts to save on the number of printed pages. Usually, more than one chart is printed on a page. The page must be copied, the charts cut into strips, and enlarged. The charts printed out on either 11x14 or 11x17. The board's dimensions of 17 x 17 are perfect. The size is small enough and light enough to fit comfortably on my lap.
The two magnets are nice, but there aren't enough of them for my purpose. I use push pins to hold the chart on the board and to hold the cover sheet under the row I'm knitting. For this size board this is a good price. For a similar price you can buy a pattern holder 9 x12 or you can pay $20-30 dollars for a larger size. |
