each time i have ordered, they arrive in a flimsy box whose top flaps and bottem flaps have gaping gaps. the box is crushed, torn.. and whoever taped it closed used the cheapest tape possible and hardly any at that.
the rolls were falling out of the box, some dirty from the journey and i am now wondering if i got all 96 rolls? normally amazon does a good job securing packages but this product? they do a crappy job . if amazon doesnt improve their packing policies on this item i may have to wipe it off my shopping list in the future. that would really bum me out.
Now, how in the world did this product get such a high rating?
First, let's lay the foundation for comparison. My "go to" bargain tissue is T@rget's Up & Up tissue paper. It's a 2-ply tissue that is, all-around, pretty darned good. It isn't linty, holds up, and is pretty thick. It's substantial and easy to use in the sense that you can fold it up really quickly into squares even with one hand. The tissue provides a solid barrier between liquids and your hand. It's strong enough that, in a pinch, you can use it to do a little light cleaning of toothpaste that dried on the counter or some scooping up of fallen hair. I've tried all types of tissue paper, and I like T@rget's tissue even more than C0stco's tissue.
Next, what's at the bottom of the pile? The only thing I've found cheaper in stores is Scott's tissue, and that stuff is just terrible. Scott's is a 1-ply, flimsy, thin tissue. It's so flimsy that your fingers poke through while using it. It's that bad. Forget trying to fold it, because it floats in the air and folds lengthwise before it folds into squares.
This Boardwalk 2-ply tissue finds itself somewhere just slightly above Scott's tissue in quality. It's thin, and the rolls are wound pretty loosely, so I'll be changing rolls very frequently. You won't be poking holes through it during use, but it's pretty hard to fold up the tissue quickly. It's not substantial enough to do the lightest of cleaning. On the other hand, it's not stiff or linty.Read more ›
