The main menu of the Video Guide, allows quick access to any stage of construction. Each link goes to a sub-menu that offers you even more selections. You'll see how easy learning to build a boat can be. Included on BoatWise is a complete manual, laid out in a step by step format just like the video guide. The Slider manual has pictures from each video, full text instructions along with complete plans, a bill of materials and a full page of building terms for the novice builder. After you've viewed the video guide you can decide how much or how little of the manual you want to print. You can then use the section you've printed for a quick reference while building your boat.

BoatWise on CD-Rom let's you print out 2 pages of study plans and 6 pages of easy to follow building plans. The plans for Slider 16' are designed to utilize as much of the plywood as possible, to avoid any wasted materials.

This publication began with the idea of putting together an electronic newsletter on diskette. Something we could distribute easily to everyone with a PC and an interest in boating. But we found that to tell a story with this limited space on diskette meant small pictures and very short stories. So we moved to the web! This would let us use larger images, loads of text and sound or even video. But while building our site we began to discover that much of the hype about the Internet is just that. To deliver a true multimedia, interactive experience over it would be almost impossible, at least to reach everyone out there. With all the different browsers and modem speeds it was difficult to know what the pages would look like when they finally downloaded to our viewers. That's how BoatWise on CD-Rom was born! This medium gives us the creative freedom we were looking for and it gives our viewers a truly interactive, multimedia boating resource. From full screen, full color backgrounds, video, sound and print capabilities, along with being able to move from one section to another with just the click of a mouse. We believe this type of book on CD-Rom has a great future and have enjoyed building it. We hope you enjoy using it!

This book is for the 90's! The graphics and layout of this CD-Rom make it very easy to navigate through. The Step by Step video guide to build a kayak are great. There is nothing to question every step is shown through video along with audio and text. There is also a helpful 38 page manual that you can print to have in the shop while you're building. This CD-Rom is full of other interesting articles and stories. The whitewater rafting section gives you a real-time feel of what Maine whitewater is really like. The Software section is full of marine related demos along with so much more. It is truely a multimedia experience that just isn't available from a book or the internet. I recommend BoatWise for all outdoor lovers and builders.
