4.0 out of 5 stars Great starting point, August 26, 2003
This review is from: Boats for Fishermen (Paperback)
This is really a great book. The only reason it did not get 5 stars is that I wish it were a bit longer and more indepth. I would have liked to hear more specifics about livewells, fishfinders and other boat features.

It is well written and enjoyable to read. It covers all the basics of which hull designs are the most stable and best fishing platforms, the pros and cons of fiberglass vs. aluminum, etc. It is a very good starting point if you are a boating novice, or in my case, have been away from boats for a period of time.

If you have been knocking around in fishing boats your whole life, you may not get a lot out of this book, however, if you are the shore fisherman who is ready to make a first leap into owning a fishing boat... get this and read it cover to cover....
