5.0 out of 5 stars My 2.5 y/o loves it
My son Is developing a growing love for Bob The Builder! We bought the tool belt because I was looking for a realistic tool belt for Halloween and something that he could continue playing with after. I bought it online and when it got delivered I was suprised at the quality. The blue rubber on the tools is a nice gripping surface and the tools have a nice weight to them...

3.0 out of 5 stars great idea, average execution
Bought this set for my son, who is almost three and loves anything construction-related. We have had this set for almost a month, and have mixed feelings about it. The hard-hat does not stay in place - should have been obvious to me from the picture as it has nothing to hold it in place. this annoyed my son as he has a fireman's plastic hat that has an adjustable...

My son Is developing a growing love for Bob The Builder! We bought the tool belt because I was looking for a realistic tool belt for Halloween and something that he could continue playing with after. I bought it online and when it got delivered I was suprised at the quality. The blue rubber on the tools is a nice gripping surface and the tools have a nice weight to them. -Not heavy mind you, just not the cheap plastic that I was fearing. The tools have seen heavy use by a 2.5 y/o for a week now and the tools are still like new. The pliers pivot point and the adjustable wrench movement is sturdy. My son has "fixed" literally every piece of furniture in the house, the stair spindles, our sliding glass doors, our patio furniture, our swing set... You get the idea. So far the tools are standing up beautifully to indoor and outdoor use. In case you don't think I'm stressing how well made and impressed I am by these toy tools... we just got back from visiting my FIL job site where my son (fully supervised) had the greatest time going to work with his poppy. We already have the Bob the Builder 3-in-1 power tool pack by Learning Curve and I hope they expand their line of Bob The Builder construction toys. One nitpicking negative is that Bob's 2nd most used tool, next to his hammer, is probably his cell phone. It would have been nice if that was part of the tool belt. Also it would have been nice for the hard hat to have an adjustable 'chassis' inside so you could adjust it to fit a wider range of head sizes. Neither of these was a problem nor would they prevent me from giving my highest recomendation for this product.

I agree that this is pretty close to perfect. For the hard-hat, I put some of that sticky/foamy shelf liner stuff inside, just taping it to the edges. It prevented the hat from wobbling all over and falling off his head. Am now looking for more tools!

Where's the blue hat for the girls to dress up as Wendy? Is it available?

This is a very cute set. The hat is nice and big and the tools are basically real of course just not as strong or dangerous.

My little one is Bob when he puts it on and I can see his imagination at work.

I love the whole "Yes we can" attitude.

He loves to play the short "Bob the builder... can we fix it? Bob the builder... yes we can!" music over and over. That's all it plays of the theme that one line but it seems to be enough for him. He likes me to put the tool belt on him and leave it on like Bob. It's a bit big for him (He's 24 months) but you can figure out how to adjust the velcro straps.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great toy - lots of fun for 3 yr old, February 16, 2007
This review is from: Bob the Builder - Deluxe Talking Tool Belt Set (Toy)
My son received this as a birthday gift and just loves it. The hat is relatively useless, but typical - he and his little brother wind up using it as a bowl, spinning it, loading it with toys, etc. He has another hard hat that has an insert so it fits well on his head. He loves the tools, uses them with some of his take-apart toys, and the Bob the Builder toolbelt is really cute too.

Definately a winner.

My grand son just loves it! He spends all day pretending to build just like his Daddy. He's a natural builder!

I purchased this product for 2 of my grandsons for Christmas. They are both 3 years old. It was a 'hit' with them the moment they opened it. They both wore their belts and played with their new tools all day long. Very durable and they loved hearing 'Bob's voice. They wanted to wear the hat too but it was a bit woobly on their heads. I would highly recommend this toy and plan on purchasing it next year for my 1 year old grandson also.

My little girl loves this tool belt (has proven to be sturdier than the Elmo tool belt my other child has). Nothing bad to say about it so far. Do NOT order this thru BabyRide however - they did not ship on time and had horrible customer service.

Bought this set for my son, who is almost three and loves anything construction-related. We have had this set for almost a month, and have mixed feelings about it. The hard-hat does not stay in place - should have been obvious to me from the picture as it has nothing to hold it in place. this annoyed my son as he has a fireman's plastic hat that has an adjustable insert that enables me to adjust it so that it is held snuggly in place - this has no such thing. the belt is good for the most past - although all the slots seem to be the same size so it was difficult to insert some of the tools and there was also a sizing issue. however, the talking buckle/pront part was such a hit. my son enjoyed having bob the builder talk to him! so overall, i would say that this set has the potential but still a few details were left out.

5.0 out of 5 stars I agree with Big Daddy, November 28, 2006

My 18 month old has just loved this set. Tool quality is excellent and they have held up well to several months of fix it jobs around the house.

Tool belt is a bit funky; not something that my child has taken too. The hard hat doesn't tend to fit real well because it doesn't have any internal adjustments. These haven't been big problems for us, just something to consider if you think your little one is dying for the belt and the hat.

My only minor complaint is about the hammer. They did such a lovely job with with the soft blue rubber on the tool handles but they should have include a soft rubber nose on the hammer too! Would have made Daddy's life just a bit easier and kept Jr. out of trouble with the hammer.

The tools are great. But the hat doesn't stay on and the belt is too big to wrap around a child's waist. The belt is of poor quality as well.
