When Bob's dad Bob arrives for an unexpected visit, a simple case of mistaken identity lands Bob and his crew a big job restoring a crumbling castle--under the leadership of Bob Senior. Problem is, Bob's dad isn't quite up to the role of foreman nor are Bob and Wendy comfortable taking orders from him. Naturally, the construction crew steps up to the challenge, assuming names like "Sir Roll-a-Lot" and "Lady Dump-a-Lot" and learning all about medieval castles and legends as they work. When Bob and his Dad get locked in the dungeon, they have a heart-to-heart discussion that reveals the importance of honesty and teamwork. After the restoration is complete, Bob's mom joins her family, the construction crew, and the historical society for a celebratory medieval pageant. This 45-minute, never-televised Bob the Builder episode is rich in history and construction fun. (Ages 3 to 7) --Tami Horiuchi

Product Description
In "Bob the Builder's" first direct to video adventure, an old castle is in need of repairs and it's time to call Sir Fix-a-lot (also known as Bob the Builder)! Unfortunately, a case of mistaken identity puts Bob's father in charge, resulting in one disaster after another! Meanwhile, tales of medieval times inspire Bob's machines to change their names and seek adventures. Scoop becomes Sir Digalot, Muck becomes Sir Dumpalot, and Spud sets off on a quest that results in a jousting match! Back at the castle, Bob's father becomes a bit of a royal pain when he locks himself and Bob in the dungeon! Can they get out? Luckily, Bob's father figures out, "Yes the can!"

5.0 out of 5 stars Sir Bob can fix it!, September 17, 2003
Bob the builder is great fun. My two boys are big fans, and even I get a kick out of Bob, Wendy, and all his talking equipment. This is longer than most of the Bob the Builder shorts, but the kids watch just as intently. Bob's dad (and near the end his Mom) are a great addition to the Bob family of characters, and this episode even has a little suspense...though nothing to upset the little ones.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bob the Builder The Knights of Fix-a-lot, March 17, 2003
By "taneous" (Harrisonburg, VA United States) - See all my reviews
The kids & I really enjoyed the DVD. My only complaint about the DVD is the lack of chapter selection. This means you can't go to any specific section of the movie, you have to fast forward to the part you want to watch. Also there is no menu, so you always have to watch the movie trailers at the beginning. They should have spent the time adding chapter selection to this product; otherwise, this movie is very enjoyable.

5.0 out of 5 stars WE LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!!!!!!, March 21, 2003
By msab (New Jersey) - See all my reviews
My mother bought this video for my 2-1/2 year old Bob the Builder lover on the day it was released. He watched it SIX times throughout that day! He quotes from it! Really love that it is feature length instead of a few different episodes in one. Love all the new characters, too. First time the've ever showed child "characters" to my knowledge. My son loves the part when Spud goes to the library!! I hear Bob's brother is his twin -- can't wait for that one! I agree, probably the best Bob video to date...
