Bob the Builder, with his trusty toolbelt and sunny yellow hardhat, appears live in this 70-minute extravaganza, filmed before a pulsating audience of preschoolers in London's Wembley Arena. Though it may take home viewers a few minutes to grow accustomed to the live stage format--featuring actors dressed as Bob and Wendy--they'll happily settle in the minute they see the brightly colored crew of can-do machines--Scoop, Lofty, Dizzy, and Roley--glide onstage to the theme song, "Can We Fix It? Yes We Can!" In the spunky storyline, the mayor needs Bob to transform the city's junkyard into a park in time for the big Jamboree. Bob and crew get to work, but not without small glitches and mishaps, always solved with optimism and teamwork. Ten songs are blended into the mix as toe-tappin' diversions. My son is a Bob the Builder fan so I bought this for his 4th birthday. I didn't realize it was a live show - not a cartoon. It is people playing the characters in front of a live audience. I was disappointed at first but then I saw my kids' reactions: my 1 year old daughter was smiling and clapping along and my 4 year old son was completely giddy with excitement! It was a big deal for them to see the show "live" even on a video. I would recommend this video for any fan of Bob the Builder.

As I saw more and more of the Bob the Builder episodes (prior to Project Build-it), I saw where they got the ideas for the live stage show from which this is filmed. It was really nice to see my son dance and sing. I love how the stage machines, the storyline, and the songs. Simple enough story line for young children. Toe tapping music with easy lyrics. Really well developed for young children. Wish we could see the live show on stage! After several months my son still enjoys watching it.

This is our toddler's favorite video. He likes it better than the regular show and loves the music. Like the TV show, the characters in the live show are very positive. The only caution is that some of the songs can be annoying and get stuck in your head.
