4.0 out of 5 stars a little sappy for tom green, but definately worth watching
is it the basic story of the single mom going crazy with works and raising children and the stranger that turns everything around. the only difference is that this is a tom green film. while it is a little more family friendly than his other films, but it still has some very funny moments. i liked this film and i think a lot of people will. just dont expect to see...

3.0 out of 5 stars Green house effect.
I recently watched a screener copy of this film, and I must say it's pretty entertaining. A warning for the average Tom Green fan however, this is Tom Green humor on a leash. Tom really needs to be allowed to reach outside the box for his humor to really take form, and on films like these you can literally see him restraining and thus limiting himself. But a tamed Tom...

5.0 out of 5 stars Very entertaining movie, August 2, 2007

This review is from: Bob the Butler (DVD)
I frequently watch the movies that are broadcast on the Disney Channel with my two younger daughters and my grandson. Every time they show "Bob the Butler" I try to make sure I'm done with my housework so that I can enjoy it with them. It is a very entertaining movie and my young ones enjoy it very much. That is why I decided to buy it so we could watch it whenever we wanted to. This DVD will definitely get a lot of viewing at our house!

5.0 out of 5 stars laugh out loud, December 19, 2005

I totally forgot I saw this movie. It is great. My roommate brought some screeners home from work and this was one of them. I was crying I was laughing so hard.

People need to see this movie because Tom Green needs to make a comeback. Plus it is funny watching him interact in a family type situation.

It is over-the-top and ridiculous, kind like a tripped-out Whos the Boss episode, but I would expect nothing less from the guy that gave us the "Bum" song.

I don't know why this guy disappeared. I thought he was always pretty funny. This movie is like every other Tom Green movie. Throughout the movie, you are just wondering what he is going to do next. I would recommend this movie.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprising Great, December 19, 2005

I am very surprised to be saying this because I wouldn't classify myself as a Tom Green fan but I actually really liked this film. Green plays the loveable loser character that can't find work and decides to go to butler school. He ends up getting hired by this single mom and then it is just one quirky event after another. Even with the crazy stuff in this movie, Tom Green is relitively calm in this film, and I think it actually works for him.

This movie is meant to be strictly entertainment, so if you are looking for a deep message or something, this isn't your film. On the other hand, if you just want to laugh, it is worth a shot.

Tom really needs to be allowed to reach outside the box for his humor to really take form, and on films like these you can literally see him restraining and thus limiting himself. But a tamed Tom Green is a whole lot better than no Tom Green at all(which has been the case since Stealing Harvard tanked at the box office a number of years ago). So run out and get yourself a copy of Bob the Butler, just don't expect to see horses being masturbated or mice being placed in mouths or bloody bones being licked.

Brooke Sheilds has a couple of bratty kids that all the nannies run from, helter skelter. Enter Tom Green, a fellow going down the occupation list alphabetically, trying to find his fortay (of a job). He is on butler (alphabetically). If you are in the mood for a silly nonsensical laugh, Tom Green is a reliable source. Love him or (I can't imagine) hate him, he's brilliant! This movie continues his trait of silly, good humoured, inimitable fun. So if you're in the mood for this kind of film, I suggest it wholeheartedly!

4.0 out of 5 stars Bobbert!, July 21, 2007

When my daughter picked this flick up for cheap, I didn't know what to expect. And then, when I arrived home to find Tom Green starred in the film...yikes, I thought it would be bad.

But it wasn't.

Bob the Butler is a funny, family film with a happy ending. We enjoyed it. Check it out.

I'm a Tom Green fan so it was worth the buy. Silly without all the standard raunchy Tom Green antics.
