Bob Haggart at his best., December 29, 1999
This review is from: Bob Crosby Orchestra & The Bobcats: Stomp Off, Let's Go! (Audio CD)
this album contains some of the best tunes written by bassist Bob Haggart (who passed away last year). "Big Noise", which features Haggart whistling and fingering the bass while drummer plays bass strings with his sticks, was a big hit for the band, and this technique has been copied many, many times up to current times. I think this album is one of the best examples of popular "Chicago" style Jazz of the 40's.
