What a Shame!,
By Dylanfan 111 (midwest) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bob Dylan: Tribute to Dylan - Recorded live at Madison Square Garden, New York City, October 16, 1992 (DVD)
I remember well the original live broadcast of this concert on the radio, and I've waited all these years for a DVD to come out. Now that it is here it is only about half of the actual concert songs, and many of these are truncated versions. Oh well, I still have my CD set with most of the concert intact. Maybe in 15 more years they will release the whole show on video.

Very disappointing video quality-muddy and no contrast. Missing many of the performances. Overall a shameful product

Who decided which songs to include?,

This review is from: Bob Dylan: Tribute to Dylan - Recorded live at Madison Square Garden, New York City, October 16, 1992 (DVD)
I don't know, maybe there are rights issues with some of the performances that keep the suits from releasing the entire concert. OK, I can deal with that. But if one Eric Clapton song can be included, there must not be a rights issue. So why did they leave off what I consider to be the finest cover of a Dylan song in the history of Dylan music. Clapton's cover of "Don't think twice, It's all right" is a masterpiece. Clapton takes a pretty good folk song and turns it into an stunning blues song. I will never buy this DVD. I will watch my VHS copy until the oxide falls off.
